I'd like to start blogging more often (and want to do a post per day for a month in October) but hate the way images appear, and tweaking various WP CSS files hasn't yielded any helpful results for me.
Namely, the horizontal spacing between images is inconsistent and strange. There's a bunch of space above the first image, and there's a line below these images that seems to be a placeholder for a caption (even when I don't enter a caption).
I created a test post to demonstrate these issues, and here's a screenshot of what I'd like to fix.

WP issues are frustrating. Does the issue occur in other themes? Without plugins? You might want to ask in the WP forums, IRC channel (#wordpress on liberachat) or the WP stackexchange if that's your thing. Good luck!
