I haven't posted to Imgur in years, but I'm supposed to be in an online training class today but we haven't started because some students are getting 404 errors when accessing the lab... and the instructor is telling them to reboot their computers. Sigh. That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works. So I just made this in MS Paint to entertain myself. Please carry on with your day now.

The reason rebooting "works" is that in the time it takes to restart, the remote server might have come back up on its own.

It also might flush DNS and allow the correct server to be resolved.

Then the real troubleshooting instructions ought to be how to flush DNS and then wait a minute. Rebooting needlessly is just useless ritual.
