Unfortunately I live with a person who has dementia. I now have a book hidden in the bathroom. Otherwise he gets upset I’m not paying attention to him or thinks I’m upset with him & not talking to him.

Especially at work - like I don't want to hear your life story, just get your things and get out. Well maybe that's a bad attitude to have with customer service, lol.
