Chrono Trigger was probably the first video game that wowed me growing up. I remember after borrowing it, I had to hunt down my own copy, only to find a used one for $56 at Funcoland.

Chrono Trigger was put together by Square's "Dream Team". Hironobu Sakaguchi from Final Fantasy, Yuji Horii from Dragon Quest, and Akira Toriyama of Dragonball fame(also Dragon Quest artist).

One of Chrono Trigger's most noted features is it's soundtrack. While featuring some tracks by Final Fantasy veteran Nobou Uematsu. Chrono Trigger was the jumping point for Yasunori Mitsuda who composed the majority of the game.

One of the most striking aspect of the game, is it's visual direction. Giving it a hand drawn feel, and dramatic use of artistic lighting in it's environment design.

Multiple endings, combo attacks, on the map battles, a unique cast of characters and NPCS, including references to Rock artist and biblical characters; Chrono Trigger was a wonderful balance of dramatic storyline and needed humor.

You could fight a giant robot for fun.

awaken the power of mythical sword.

explore far away lands

and see the end of time.

Chrono Trigger was first game that made me see the art in the design. And one of the reasons I got into art today.

Corridors of Time will forever be one of the best tracks ever made for a video game.

Wow, they both spelled 9 wrong. (CT is arguably the best classic Square RPG).
