A Computer is currently destroying a Go Master

For those of you who didn't know Go is an ancient Chinese board whose rules can be found here.(http://www.usgo.org/rules-go) There are more ways to play this game than there are atoms in the universe. When Chess fell to the computer Deep Blue in 1996 Go players were resolute in their standing that no Go Professional would ever lose to a computer. However just 20 years later the Google AI division deepmind and their alphago thinking machine is now up 2-0 against one of the greatest Go players around Lee Sedol. The next match is going to start @ 10:30 pm EST tonight Friday the 11. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUAmTYHEyM8 There is commentary and history lessons on GO by the only western 9d Professional Michael Redmond. Matches 1 and 2 are available to watch on the Deepmiinds youtube channel. I would encourage you guys to at least glance at history being made.

I want to eat those game pieces. I get that they're probably not edible, but they look delicious.

Probably, in the 2nd match one of the creators joins the commentators and explains that the program just tries to increase it's win %.

Hey that's me.

Why are we making computers that can do things humans can already do? Let's make one that does stuff no human can do like beating dark souls

so many people piggyback off summons that I don't think anyone thinks DS is hard anymore.

Tbh the game is surprisingly easy once you play it for a while and get the hang of things.

Wait beat dark souls with or without solaire? Cause I did with solaire

I did it without him, several times on different playthroughs. I aint giving my humanities to spider-bitch just to save him.

Both ways

Curious. What did you call it?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't know now I got to go look it up.

Othello

That one makes sense. In othello, you move the pieces. In go, you set them in strategic positions

Reversi?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Reversi is only played on 8x8 and you switch your stone with theirs, this is a quite a bit different, I would recommend checking out the AGA

Feel like I'll have to now.
