Well slap my ass and call me scholarly—apparently President Donald J. Trump fired the Librarian of Congress because of “inappropriate books for children.”
EXCEPT… kids under 16 can’t even get their snot-nosed selves in the damn building.
So what the hell are they whining about? Imaginary kids reading imaginary books in a place they can’t even enter? That’s some next-level brain rot right there.
Let me break it down like I’m talking to a room full of concussed possums:
The Library of Congress is a research fortress. It’s not a Chuck E. Cheese for conservatives to throw tantrums in.
This ain’t about kids. It’s about butchering DEI and throwing red meat to the cult.

I just read up on the topic after your comment and it turns out that I was wrong. It wasn't banned but there was a copyright which did not expire until 2016 and the entity holding the copyright chose not to publish. Today it is freely available but publication is only allowed if it meets certain conditions. Unannotated or propagandistic distribution can be prosecuted under criminal law.

I'll keep saying this until enough people hear it: This is not about trans people, nor the LGBTQ+ community. This is about defining genders and sexes. They're using trans people to scare MAGAt voters into supporting and voting for bills that define genders because they want to be able to exclude any future female Presidents and Vice Presidents from holding power. There is no need to neuter anything. The American public has rejected a woman leader, loudly and clearly. Multiple high profile attempts in recent years have resulted in disaster. It's stupid, misguided and harmful but I didn't make it happen. All I can do is recognize it for what it is.

As a European I don't have much of a voice about thus, but the Library of Congress is just a magnificent thing. Like my local university, under law, gets a copy of all magazines and books officially published and that's wonderful.
We fucking need these repositories of information. They tell us who we are historically, socially and culturally. That's why the autocrats are torching the Livrary of Congress, they only want their truth.

I had someone yesterday claim that she allowed those books in public library's. I tried to tell them that she had no authority over anything in public library's, and that their contents are controlled at the local level usually by appointed boards, and they said I just had TDS.
