Our cosy tycoon game in the making! What do you think of our customization options?

Hey Imgur!

We’re Homo Ludens, a young indie game studio developing our first game: Blooming Business: Casino, a tycoon game where you design, build and run a casino in a retro world filled with cute animals.

Today we’re gonna talk a bit about what’s cool in a Tycoon game: Customization ! We all have the desire to build our own cosy little place that just pleases both the clients and yourself ! In Blooming Business : Casino we want to offer cute furniture to play with.

Of course, as we are in the 1950’s and 1960’s, we try to be careful to keep the very specific look of the era : between 1950 and 1960, american society changed a lot, design liberated itself and focused on producing beautiful products not only for an elite but “for everyone”. At the same time, fashion and new ideas overflowed, producing lots of very memorable objects and themes : Tiki, Space Age etc.

Here is a mood board of pictures from this era. It was our inspiration for the creation of our ingame decorative items.

Most of your decorations are focused on the interior of the Casino, where the clients will be (hopefully) spending most of their time.

Objects are part of Sets so it's easier to quickly build a mood to go along the game casino attractions (Slot Machines, BlackJack Table,...). It's possible to explore the exotic (but oh so fake) Tiki set to give a sense of wilderness, or shoot to the stars with the “Space Age” with its (then) modern and slick look. If we want to have a more classic vibe, players can get the most recent antiquité that probably comes either from Greece or Minnesota.

Clients on the game will be quick to notice player's taste as an interior decorator. The “Beauty” System we have in our game influence the mood of the animals who will spend more time (and money!) in a beautiful Casino where they feel at ease.

This is our first post here, and we wanted to showcase some of our customization which is one key element to the experience of a management game! Let us know what you think of it.
We hope that you like this first and really short look at our game world!

Thanks! We've not set the date yet. For now, we've released a short playable demo on Steam. We'll update it with new content in the future

Ah, yes. The seedy side of Animal Crossing

Yes, in this one, we want players to experience what casinos are made of, by putting them in the shoes of the owner.

Instead of living in debt and selling fruit for meager earnings because capitalism? Ridiculous!

Important questio there microtransactions and will cheat codes be available for those who just want to build things and be happy with that?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And there will be modding, so probably tons of opportunity to build and design freely (by tweaking the game files) :p

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Hello! There is no microtransaction in the game. It will be a paid PC game and that's it. Then you can enjoy its content :)

Yay! I'll be getting this once I get back into pc gaming. Small children have forced me to playing switch or mobile :(

Hehe! The game runs on a Toaster ^^ So even with an old computer, it works. But we may expand to consoles and Switch at some point as well ?
