Bought.

at least one developer in the world understands.

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

I don't have a problem with Steam having shit games. You don't complain to a game shop when it stocks shit, why complain at Steam?

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Damn I wish I could read

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

You blurred out your name in the menu bar but not the menu.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I decided to hold off buying Starbound until they came out of 'early access.' Over a year later and guess what hasn't happened...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Except the Early Access version has more content than many "released" games, and the release version is coming out in literally a few days.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I really think that the simplicity of it reall y makes a firm political message of some sort

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Still a better game than Depression Quest.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Wait...that Steam screenshot is no older than 4 days. Is this...is this actually OC? Wow.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nerdcubed, anyone?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 6

The "don't buy lol" got me

10 years ago | Likes 446 Dislikes 1

I've actually seen a few early access games that noted, "Do not buy unless you like the idea of paying to alpha test."

10 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 1

At one point, Prison Architect actively encouraged you to not buy it "Srsly, this shit is broken lol"

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep that is the disclaimer listed by steam on every early access game.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I don't mind playing an alpha game if they put a lot of work into it and it gets out of alpha fairly quickly *COUGH* DAYZ *COUGH*

10 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Well, check out Space Engineers. Alpha as fuck, but developing quickly. Patched every Thursday.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You forgot the zombies and realistic survival elements.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I need a fucking "don't ever fucking bug me worth early access ever again, seriously" option in steam.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Meh. Some people take $10 to give me access to a game while it's being made. EA, Ubisoft and R* charges $60. One is honest about it though.

10 years ago | Likes 182 Dislikes 7

AAA developer meeting: "What?! We can make money on unfinished games?" "Yeah, the early access guys are making bank." "Sign us up!"

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

All that's missing is it being #1 on the Top Sellers list.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Steam is basically virtual walmart now.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

but pre-order now and get exclusive in-game content

Your name is naughty....I'm telling on you

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Early Access has done a lot of good for small teams with tight budgets. Sure, its been taken advantage of, but not all developers misuse it.

#notalldevs

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hell, I plan on using it with my stuff. Though I want something to give that functions beforehand. WAY too much abuse.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I bought Towns, which got a lot of hate due to lack of development (dev had a burnout iirc). Still, I had plenty of fun for just a few bucks

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

hell yeah, space engineers is one of them :p

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Last weekend, I bought Civ 5 from steam. First time playing a Civ game. I haven't slept in 5 days. ...just one more turn...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Eh, DayZ is in early access and is probably the best zombie survival game ever released.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I've got 174 games on steam and DAYZ is #3 for hours played. DAYZ devs get a lot of hate for "being slow" but I am damn satisfied.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair DayZ was a thing before getting a stand alone release, so it's not like they started from scratch.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same person developed the mod so it's basically the same thing.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Best zombie survival game ever Not released" Its is still in early access ;)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

from what i've seen the h1zn or whatever is basically the same game but with way more development time and features, isn't it?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i mean apart from the controversy around the business model, which seems to be uncalled for from what i've read

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Completely different style, if you want an arcade game pick h1z1, but if you want a realistic game take DayZ.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the only game i want right now is a hd version of the xwing games and xwing alliance

who let this happen??

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Who knows, as far as I know the guy was trying to make the kid mess up, but this is a bit excessive.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thats the best excuse he could come up with?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What the actual hell?

I bet it's a game by Ubisoft.

What do you mean don't buy? It's 75% off! I must have it!

10 years ago | Likes 156 Dislikes 23

DUDE, don't be part of the probl- Oh, sarcasm. Ok then. +!

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's for GRID. The game's 20 euros

10 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

I dunno about you, but I would pay 20€ for anything that would acknowledge my existence when I needed it to... I'm so fucking lonely.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hello!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

HELLO! this is the part where I spill my entire life story, right?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you want to, go ahead

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

whoops

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

9,99€ in Europe, $9.99 in America. For once something's cheaper over here.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This trend will go away as soon as people stop funding it.

10 years ago | Likes 103 Dislikes 10

everyone I know bought early access to H1Z1 and I feel so left out, I wanna play too but I cant afford it. =(

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When you see that the top sales of steam currently are 2 alpha/preorder even after last year scandals, you loose faith.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

depends though.... every one of the early access games i have are still functioning games, just need extras and LOTS of polish

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So it'll never go away.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It won't. Same reason micro transaction in games work, because there is always some fool who will spend $1000's on gambling for a rare.

10 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

So... Never then. There will always be people that use these types of things because of the simple fact they exist.

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

That will be never. Corporations have convinced people to pay THEM for QA testing while making them think that's a privilege.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Meh, I have bought many early access games that have and continue to provide me with more hours of fun than "complete" games I've bought.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You just need to treat it like you should any other game. Use the fucking internet. Reviews and youtube to understand what you are buying.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Fucking Cube World. A game with amazing potential. Almost no development since it released.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Early Access is great. Its just being taken advantage of and Steam doesn't care enough to monitor it more closely

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

This is the way to describe my feelings in more than 3 words, but i think fuck early access is more to the point.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I can't agree. Because I've been very, very happy of the early access games I've spent money on. Hell, wish I could do more to support em

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Whatever man, some of us don't want to wait till 2050 to play Tarn Adam's masterwork.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

H1Z1 IS THE SHIT.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You don't have to buy early access. I don't understand why anyone would complain. If it were ready for use it wouldn't be early access

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Because it clogs up steams suggestions even if you'll never buy early access, that's the problem. 8/10 suggestions are really access now.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Except that's an exaggeration. 3/11 of my queue is early access. Plus that's a pretty silly reason to not like early access.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

There's hundreds of reasons I don't like early access. This is just one of them, and a particularly aggravating one.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

100000x this. People complaining about nothing

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I like the thought of it, not the application of it. Kerbal is a decent example. They've added to it (which is better than most), but [1]

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yep that's how I feel about 7 Days to die though younger it's coming along nicely. I am fine with wipes for patch days to test/try again.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And so far, H1Z1 has been good. Plus prison architect.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

it's still in early access mode, and it was first put out in June of 2011. That's WAY too long.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've been enjoying Starbound, though they keep updating. Wish they'd release it soon.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Man, I forgot I bought that game. Did they get multiplayer into it yet?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not sure. Took a break from it for while. Planning on getting back in, though.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes. I've hosted servers and mod support is pretty booming.
