MFW My mom told me to go back to school for a better job. I'm a puppy nanny.

Pretty cool job, but I'd never be able to take my clients seriously. Defeats the whole point of having a dog.

Actually, they're great people. They work really long hours but are really active weekends. I also do nanny stuff like cooking/cleaning.

My favorite part is that there are 2 dogs, 2 cats, so It's like having extra part-time pets I know really well. And my service dog can come.

Take night courses in bunny management.

She might be simply concerned about your future, like every mom

I have 90% of a fluff degree with no career prospects and I'm making more than most people I know with MBAs.

Of course to be fair, the people I know with MBAs all work in customer service because job markets suck.

My mom wants me to finish my degree. I'm happily building a career in retail management. Do what makes you happy!

Are you still living with this "crazy woman"?

Oh god no. I've been on my own for several years.

Bravo, carry on then. Will you be able to nanny this puppy to your retirement? Or do you have other plans? /dadmode

I have other plans and they plan on keeping me on as sort of a stay at home mom until they retire. Plus, they know other rich people.

In this same conversation she asked me for $200/month to pay for insurance I asked her to take me off of. Woman's crazy.

youre going to make some poor guy with low self esteem a very unfortunate person one day

Huh? I'm confused.

exactly

The reason I'm confused is how a poor guy with low self esteem factors into my job and relationship with my mom. My buddies love my job.

girls with your mentality dont go far in life.

You don't want to get a better career or pay a share of the money she's paying for your insurance. Yeah....

I asked her to cancel the insurance because I have a better deal I can get if she does. Also, I already have the best job ever.

Ok then. You may want to check tho, cheap (bronze) insurance may not be 'better' depending on your situation.

I should also clarify it's been her paying $300/month for my insurance for 2 and a half years since I asked her to cut it. I haven't used it

The insurance she kept me on was REALLY bad with a copay I couldn't afford. I have another opportunity with something I can.
