Finished hand-carving the rough shape.

Step 4: used some chisels and carving spoons as well as a cool little tool I made myself to shape the indent.

Step 5: sanded the hell out of it and treated with butcher’s block oil. I think it turned out pretty well for a first attempt using no power tools.
