Rough sketch of the desk I want to make. Proportions have been distorted for clarity. I have a nice, old, oak board cut from a huge beam. That will be the front portion. Those big squares in the middle will be some nice marble tile a friend gave me. I'll probably move that diagonal bit in the lower left view. Mirror it to connect to the back legs.

Tile is 12" x 12"

Oak board is 8.5" x 2.125" x 6'
I'll probably cut it down to 8" wide to get rid of some holes made when removing nails.
I thought that maybe I'd actually document my building process better than my previous stuff. I am by no means a skilled craftsperson. But I enjoy working with wood. It'll probably take a few weeks or more before I actually start. Gotta work out logistics and save up for materials and workshop fees. All being done on the weekend after saving up for getting into an apartment. It should be fun.

Looks ambitious. Looking forward to see how it will be joined

Don't hold your breath. I don't work in a woodshop anymore. Even though I'm advancing my career, I am starting to miss it.
