For a while there, the future was so bright

I had a 3310. I still had a 3310 when people were using smart phones. My own carrier gave me a data plan trial not even thinking someone might still be using their 3310 and what goddamn use would a data plan be?

Oh yeah. It was awesome to get new gadgets back in the day.

Why is this the perfect music to encapsulate the feeling of nostalgia? I've heard it on similar YouTube shorts, and it always grabs me.

I had (or still have somewhere) the Sony Ericsson K750i (7/8 second mark, the one with the black backside). I used for about 12 years, until October 2018, when I got my first smartphone.

I used one of these for many years as well. Great phone, damn near indestructible from my experience. Even the little joystick thing in the front never gave out. I finally threw it out earlier this year after I found it in a random box.

I had a Nikon digital camera that did this...

The full qwerty keyboard on the Xperia was a thing of beauty.

Yeah but now you have a device that deactivates when you hold it like a phone and in order to listen to stuff you have to hold it flat and horizontal next to your ear so you look completely deranged

Hay I had some of those a few years ago, think I still got one in a draw somewhere.

As much as I miss this way of design, I can understand why the manufacturers moved away from it. Too many moving parts.

Then why are they making folding screens? I'd argue these designs held up better than the modern glass slab phone--I never had to buy an aftermarket case or sacrificial screen until the slab phone became the norm.

The folding screens, as they are now, are just to appease the market in the short term. They absolutely don't want to waste their time with something that will have 10,000 youtube tech reviewers pointing out the flaws two seconds after its available. The manufacturers really want screen tech to advance enough where its just a thin piece with zero moving parts.

You guys are putting cases on your phone?! Like why? Did you buy the wrong phone?

You might want a ulefone Armor 34 Pro, with a 25,000mah battery, IPx8 rating, large flash light, night vision, some ulefone have built in thermal cameras
