Does owning a cool dagger mean I'm required to start my own cult?

So my grandmother gave me this when I was younger and, as any overly protective mother would do, it was immediately hidden away in a box out of a well justified fear my brothers and I would stab each other with it. It's been years now though and I recently found it when cleaning out some stuff and I've developed a greater appreciation for the gift as an adult than I did as a kid. I definitely want to have it cleaned, maybe get a chain for the rings, and find a nice way to display it because it really is a great gift.

Problem is, I have no clue what the cultural significance of it is and would really like to know. My grandfather unfortunately passed away and my grandmother suffers from Alzheimer's so any sort of answer from them is gone now. I believe it's made of bronze, either that or copper I honestly wouldn't know the difference and we're from Venezuela, but my grandfather loved history and kept a lot of objects from other countries so it could be from an ancient Martian civilization for all I know.

Figured someone here might know where it's from and if not, well then you get to see a neat dagger. Now if you'll excuse me, I believe I have some goats to sacrifice at a volcano to some old god.

Well, that's for sure Arabic letters on the sheath. But I don't know the language, as several tongues use the Arabic script.

I was about to say no. But upon seeing it. Mist certainly without a doubt. Where shall we start?

Now that you've unsheathed it you can't sheath it again until it's been blooded!

Looks like a Yemeni jambiya. But if it's not extremely sharp it is probably a souvenir letter opener.

Yea it's not especially sharp so just might be that, but still a pretty cool letter opener if that's the case!

Dad had a sheathed "cutlass" letter opener from Holland. Duller than a butter knife. I thought it was cool so I played with it 1/2

until they took it away and hid it so I wouldn't put an eye out. 2/2

Well, if I remember correctly, the 50 centimos coin, is worth more as scrap metal than it is as a coin, at least
