I've been a Dungeon Master for about five years now. Before DnD I suffered from terrible Post Traumatic Stress due to my time in service. I coped in toxic ways, and spent half a decade trying to destroy myself.

Being reintroduced to the game via shows such as Harmonquest and Force Grey, I was reminded of the joy I'd experienced in my teenage years playing 3.5 and Pathfinder. So with my fingers itching and feeling a need to game again, I got the 5e Players Handbook, the Dungeon Master's Guide, and the Monster Manual to begin my journey back to table to. I also grabbed the HotDQ module to use as a template and a starting point for this attempt at catharsis.

Once I started running my first game, I learned of the world building mechanics that existed within the game system. From there, I saw an opportunity to create something. I could use the broken pieces of my time in service, and build a fantastical world where I could watch my demons be proverbially slayed on a weekly basis.

That is how I came to develop the Tales of Corraxah. A narrative based around a group of adventurers who, for their own reasons, travel to the island of Corraxah in search of wealth, prosperity, opportunity, or perhaps as simple as a new start. This island has undergone a sudden surge in evolution, sparking the emergence of a race of people known as the Djamantes. These people, constructed of stone and crystal from the island itself, are a peaceful people who are merely trying to adjust to the abrupt colonization of their home. For just as the island has given birth to new life, it has also bore new and wonderous resources: all of which sought-after by many an industry.

I have run one campaign for a year and a half consistently meeting every Tuesday (even during the pandemic via remote play). I now running this system twice a week. Once on Tuesdays and once of Wednesdays. Both are hybrid games. But I've been teaching myself the roll 20 system in hopes of reaching out to more remote players, as I've recently been added to the startplaying.games roster.

Sorry you had to go through PTSD but it’s great that D&D is getting you in a good place. The campaign sounds cool.

I see you're also a fan of the battlesystems fantasy terrain. Good choice. Waiting until we can get together to whip out the castle!

It was a gift from one of my players. I'll never use anything else.

They are very nice, and the scatter is awesome too, and it's hard to argue with the price either!
