#1 Alternate title: AI generated bullshit

#1 I wanted to know more about this. I found that the name is photographer, not location. But seems to be a place Westland Gardens on King road. Social housing of some type.

Now I need to visit Corvo Island, Portugal.

4 months ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 0

This island also reminds me of the area north of San Fierro in GTA: San Andreas.

All of the Azores islands are great. Corvo is VERY small and VERY isolated. One day is enough to visit that island. My favourites are Sao Miguel, Terceira and Sao Jorge. Never been to Flores, which many people
Say is the most beautiful

Seconding this. The Azores are beautiful in general, and not a well known travel destination. Last time I was there, the locals were all talking about how they were poised to be the next big island travel destination but this was about 9-10 months pre-covid. I keep meaning to go back again but so many places to visit and so little time...

Omg lookup where it’s located. 🤯

In the sea, as I expected!

Wikipedia says, "It has a population of 435 inhabitants (as of 2023)". But goddamn if it isn't beautiful!

#15 Anyone else think that this is AI? It looks pretty, but not livable.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Very refreshing to see just different stuff

#18 Missed opportunity. This could have been the Police Ghost in the Machine album cover, or Three Stooges, or Marx Bros.

#4 Hey! That's my home town!

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Is it a water tower or an aqueduct?

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh, now I see

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Soooo, antenna(e)?

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Water tower, just an unconventional shape for one

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Very neat looking.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

At least the first one is AI

4 months ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Original photo's lettering is fine, it must be someone put it through an upscaler (with poor outcome)

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, the first one is definitely AI, just look at the lettering on the bus.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

It has been ripped off at low res and upscaled using AI, that's why the lettering. OG photo is better anyway.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Very interesting... if you look at the image the OP linked, the text is crisp and looks like the usual Toshiba logo. It seems like the lettering has been a victim of some bad upscaling algorithm.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's AI upscaled

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Why didn't you just post the non-ai version if you had it?

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Because it was like this where I found it (tumblr). I do everything on mobile and didn’t notice. Only after the distortions were pointed out i looked for and found the one without ai generated upscaling.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, friend, that's the Yick Cheong building in Hong Kong (and a nifty choice of framing). https://maps.app.goo.gl/KW1PiNx8jtwJDuPe6

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Does seem to have been manipulated, though: it looks like the building in #1 has one more story than reality, and the background hill looks much taller. But the photographer could have done that without AI, just for artistic effect.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Going by the information about the camera used to get the original image at the Instagram URL from OP, it's a combination of a low-to-the-ground shot downhill, cropping, and a top-notch lens.
