It takes a huge deal of work to get a fossil to look as good as this one here. This T. rex skull was sold at auction for $6.1 million at Sotheby's.

Fun fact, I had the opportunity to volunteer for a little bit of research at the museum when I was in high school - while I had wanted to work in the paleontology department I landed in ornithology instead. It was still a fantastic time and helped solidify my love for science.

The Houston Museum of Natural Science has an excellent dinosaur exhibit and also fossils going back to the Trilobite. The preparation of these is exquisite and I have suggested that the Museum acknowledge the students, technicians, and volunteers who do this kind of work by putting their names on the identifying information card in the displays.
