Fun-fact that probably any non-retarded person already could have guessed. Bullet-proof vehicles have armored plating added below the panels, or if it is a military vehicle designed to survive gunfire, has THICK heavy plating all along the outside.
Even the fuckin pope-mobile which is designed to survive pretty much anything up to an RPG, has a fucking bulldozer-tier engine inside of it, because the vehicle is so goddamn heavy.
I promise this man has a concealed carry. Strokes to being a good guy with a gun. Has no idea the physics of ballistics. Will fire without considering the backdrop of his target, or the safety of others.
Remove that shitty ableist slur from your vocabulary. There are so many creative insults for these room-temperature IQ drooling failures without needing to add the suffix "t*rd".
Muskrat claims they are bullet proof. I believe several gun tubers have tested that claim and proven the door will stop a 9mm handgun round. It will not however stop larger faster moving rifle rounds.
Yeah, but the stuff on the cyber truck is thinner than a tin can. Any redneck who would even consider this should be VERY familiar with what happens to cans shot off the fence
It “may” stop some smaller calibers, there has been conflicting test/results. All that said, it’s fucking stupid. Just don’t shoot anything you don’t want to destroy.
They're only 0.12" thick, which is more than usual trucks, and supposedly "ultra hard," but that's nowhere near what you need to stop 9mm (0.25 in hardened steel, like an AR500 plate or something)
Well yeah, he's really kinda dumb, except that he can apparently pick the right thing to bet on sometimes. But he doesn't know what he's talking about usually. Yes, I'm aware people he pays lots of money to who work for his companies claim he's a savant, but then why has literally no one else heard him ever sound of even average intelligence
It's funny, the AI slop answer for "steel to stop 9mm" claims 3mm of mild steel will do it. It absolutely will not. Go watch banana ballistics YT, he's an engaging dufus who literally does nothing but shoot various things with various calibers.
That one guy who shot a cybertruck with a tommy gun - it was .22 caliber, and he was shooting half-powder rounds with soft-cast lead bullets. The kind of shit that ricochets off drywall.
In all fairness, it takes a special kind of idiot to spend like $100k on a driveable dumpster whose warranty is voided by a slight breeze made by a company that only turns a profit by committing mass fraud.
Fun fact, the Cybertruck is over 10x more likely to cause a fire related fatality than the infamous Ford Pinto by any measure (total, per 100k units sold, per 100,000 miles, you name it)
(this is, of course, not even touching on the MASSIVE amounts of greenwashing that go on in the entire carbon credits industry, which basically exists to exchange "good environmental deeds" that may or may not have actually happened for permission for companies to be as awful as they want, a really shitty design to begin with that exists solely because no major governments care enough to actually put in a carbon tax)
Ahhh, yeah. If it hit where there was a mounting point for the tape, then the metal rolling in would serve to lodge it in place. Excellent observation, and quite elementary
"Now with factory installed bullet hole adhesive technology for improved connection of the outer panel to the frame. Additional cost for this upgrade is only $17,000 as of the time of the creation of this comment. Act now, and you can also acquire our pre broken window model to save you the hassle of wrecking your vehicle yourself for a nominal cost. Taxes and other fees may apply, adhesion not guaranteed after leaving the lot. Other terms and conditions may apply."
I literally wrote off the ENTIRE Tesla company, when I found out their wondrous Car Design used Unrated, Ungraded, UN-fuckin-INSPECTED Cast fuckin Aluminum for Frame and Subframe parts. Cast Aluminum is one of the cheapest and lowest quality metals in ALL Metallurgy. Imagine your or your kid's bicycle was made of CAST fuckin ALUMINUM; would you or your kid even try to ride it?
I used to work on AMF 82-70 automatic pinspotters. Some of the major components were cast aluminum and broke constantly. It sucked, especially the pin cups.
If you need another reason to hate it, know that the absolute cheapest and shittiest pots and pans are made out of it. Thermal qualities are dogshit, it doesn't sear well. It's too soft, metal implements scrape and gouge it over time, putting microparticles of aluminum in the food cooked on it. It warps and distorts with repeated use. It is reactive with acidic ingredients and fucks them up. Just real fucking garbage.
I have heard multiple times from friends and family about how they used aluminum pans on the stove (not even cast aluminum) and they melted holes through the pan. And don't get me started on the ones they brought camping. They chose lightweight pans for backpacking, brought home lumps of scrap.
I have NEVER used Aluminum, and no one in my family has ever used it for ANYTHING Culinary. Fuckin even my huge moonshine still pots are stainless steel. I only use good cast iron, stainless steel, stainless steel with a thick copper bottom, or high carbon steel. Aluminum burns and scratches and flakes way too easy; plus high aluminum in your blood causes health issues like respiratory problems, neurological effects (has been cited for Alzheimer's symptoms), and bone diseases, including cancer.
Lotus used a Glued Aluminum Frame or Chassis for their Lotus Elise. They used a high-end Aircraft Grade Aluminum, and they ran tests to show, it was a stronger construct than the equivalent in bolted/welded Al or Steel (as far as the strength they used an Al grade that was like Billeted through forging and/or extrusion and/or shot-peening it which makes it significantly heavier but a lot stronger. I digress, though, about the only thing for which cast Al is good is making radiators/heat sinks.
Not sure I'm understanding, but you're talking about a different material (same aluminium but treated differently) than that which is used in the cars, right?
Yeah, very different in processing. What happens with metal, is a lot of its qualities comes from how it's processed. Good Aluminum, that's been forged, and/or physically compressed, becomes very strong and is still light for a metal. Shit like that gets named and rated as "Aircraft Grade Aluminum," which gets used for like plane frames, spaceships and things like race cars. While untreated/unprocessed Cast Aluminum is just garbage, that really shouldn't be used as any kind of vehicle material.
That's one of the names I like too, along with Swastikkkar, and the other appropriate nicknames, but I HAD a 71 El Camino SS 396. Fuckin Steel, Unibody, A-Frame. Sure the rear had to be narrowed, re-suspended, with Slicks, and/or weighed down, after the Blower addition, otherwise it was more squirely than the 90s 5.0 Mustangs running NO2, but I miss my El Canmino, the thing was a fuckin monster. LOL!
As someone who owns firearms and has shot them at various items over the years. The movies have lied to you. Refrigerators, storage containers, bathtubs, car doors, etc. and combinations of any or all similar items are spectacularly not bulletproof. Guns are very very good at their designed purpose. Punching holes in things. This idiots lack of training in that fact should preclude him from owning a firearm.
Further evidenced by his tossing the firearm on the ground. It SHOULDN'T just go off and kill somebody, but you never need to know if that could happen.
To be fair some of that sterns from when the refrigerator was made out of lead 1930-1950 and the best thing on the market was a 1911 whit lower power bullet (or what it now was that was going on whit bullets from ww1 to ww2)
You hide behind a car because it makes you harder to see and target, not because it's bulletproof. Although honestly your best bet is usually to run away as fast as you can - distance is by far your best defense.
DID THIS IDIOT NOT SEE THE ON STAGE DEMONSTRATION? You know it traveled far into the vehicle and must have caused a lot of damage. Imagine if it hit the battery which is considered hazardous material.
The thing that gets me is the side panels are bullet resistant. But he shot from the rear. If you have felt a cybertruck, the sides are bulky, heavy, Like a fridge. The trunk is clearly made from a different grade metal. Wouldn't surprise me if that bullet is in the engine
Yeah the first responder manual for Tesla cars (which are freely available) is terrifying.. basically "assume it's all electrified and will kill you if any part of the vehicle is damaged in any way"
Then, if everyone outside the car is OK, just leave it alone. If it's endangering people outside the car, bulldoze it to a clear space and let it do its thing.
Curious where the rest of the video is, it likely would have taken a minute or two for the battery or wiring to overheat and fail catastrophicly if the bullet struck or grazed crucial components.
