The same criminal group behind the DOGE Big Balls ransomware attack has just upped the ante. A newly updated ransom note is now using Elon Musk and DOGE references with a demand for, are you sitting down, one trillion dollars from victims.
DOGE Ransomware

Attackers Troll Elon Musk
Although there is no doubt that ransomware threats should be taken very seriously, what with a massive surge in ransomware attacks this year, new password-cracking tools being employed to gain initial access, and some very concerning political moves by big names in the extortion-racket industry, not all the players take themselves seriously it would seem.

The ransomware group behind the recent DOGE Big Balls threat, using a variant of existing malware known as FOG, and trying to pin responsibility for the attacks on a well-known member of the Department of Government Efficiency team, has just updated its ransom note. As detailed in an April 21 security report by researchers Nathaniel Morales and Sarah Pearl Camiling at Trend Micro, the ransomware now appears to have started trolling DOGE and Elon Musk mercilessly. In reference to the now-infamous Musk demand for federal workers to email DOGE what they had achieved, leaving them fearing for their jobs if they did not comply, the ransom note has been altered to read:

“Give me five bullet points on what you accomplished for work last week or you owe me a TRILLION dollars.”....

As someone who was targeted by ransomware when I was a teen…. I’m just snickering and laughing. Because at least I was able to do a system restore.

DOGE or DODGY? I always get confused because I can't really tell the difference ......

They should demand 361.6 billion to be paid by Musk himself, no reason I came up with that number.

Isn't that the same group that one of his flunkies openly bragged about being a part of?

See, that just taunts these kinds of hackers. Because they don't like being exposed like that. So they'll go out of their way to burn him for putting them at risk.

Amateurs. They should ask for all of Musk's assets to be given to a 3rd party money management company to be liquidated and the proceeds given to Unicef to fight world hunger, Musk resign from all of his companies and be deported to South Africa.

There will be back-ups. So if anything, doing, that might hurt people more. As they might end up losing proof of a payment. As if they back it up on a Monday, you make a payment of Tuesday, and it gets blown up on Wednesday. If they rebuilt from the back-up, they still think you owe Tuesdays payment. And unless you can show you did pay it, they'll make you pay it again.

Then hit them again. And again. And again.

One fault big... associating intelligence with wealth. That's an association fallacy. One does not require the other.

But, we need his fervent intention to call out injustice and a flagrant diminishment of American government. What the REPUBLICAN PARTY has done... enabling Trump and Musk... is beyond atrocious. It's patently unforgivable.

Even here, he’s equating wealth with intelligence. Intelligence has nothing to do with success at that level. You have to be missing a basic piece of your humanity to gain riches the way he has. He’s fundamentally broken, and if he doubled his intelligence, he would be an idiot in the old timey medical sense

I took that as sarcasm

Yeah, it was giving enough ground so they didn't argue over qualifications and just stating he should be held responsible to SOMEONE. More of this across the board
