Falling Down (1993) With Michael Douglas, if you believe the title

“Things that are happening here today will be happening everywhere else tomorrow,” says screenwriter Ebbe Roe Smith. “In the film, the lead character (D-FENS, played by Michael Douglas) has to deal with a lot of L.A. issues--the rise of traffic and crime and gangs, the new tide of immigrants and the tensions that arise when neighborhoods bump into each other--that tomorrow will be the issues that other cities will be forced to deal with too.” 1/2

damn, it has been too long since I've seen this movie. I remember my Catholic pride conservative parents framed it as a "horrifying" story about a "monster" and I saw neither in that movie.

He IS a monster, he IS going on a rampage (like the other commenter said), and he IS a villain.
That doesn't mean he isn't the most relatable villain around, and I agree with him on a lot of what he was saying.
He isn't a good guy in this movie. But he is what all of us want to do all the fucking time in this shit-tastic world...

No, that's RAMPAGE. I remember hearing it explained as an evolution of arms, starting with bare hands, working up through melee weapons to firearms and eventually military-grade weapons. Its been a long time, but does he top out with an RPG or a tank or something?
Mostlydeadpool
he gets a bat from a greedy store owner. he used the bat to defeat some thugs. he gets a knife from the thugs that try and rob him. and uses it to get some guns. etc etc. it's all dominos.
Mostlydeadpool
He does have a RPG at one point. he shoots the road construction with it. but that's it. no tank. :)
