You might miss a few Easter eggs, but the lore is fairly well explained in the show. The stuff you *really* need to know is shown in flashbacks.

Not to mention, most of the references are going to be about the Interplay games, and New Vegas (which makes sense, because the show takes place on the West Coast, where those games take place), and a mention of the Commonwealth (Fallout 4) when the BoS show up.

Fallout 2 is more lore related to the show (and New Vegas and apparently even Fallout 4), Fallout 3, while fun, is on the opposite coast and has no connection that I am aware of to the show.

As someone with only second hand knowledge of the setting the show is pretty accessible, so if you like sci-fi and pitch black humor I'd say you should try it out. It's also a bit gory, which is something I'm often pretty sensitive to, but they pull it off in a way that doesn't bother me the way Game of Thrones does.

Bah. I've enjoyed every Fallout that Bethesda has released except Fallout 76 (which I loathe). Obsidian did a great job on Fallout New Vegas and I had a great time, but I never felt it was hugely better than Fallout 3 or 4. For me, the one I play the most is Fallout 4, because I love the base building. To each their own.

It did a game right. Hit the right notes and focused on the human stories. Not too much fan service and some tweaks to make it work for episodic tv. Told myself it would be shit and I believed it till Walton goggins is lying to his daughter about the nukes and I’m like “THIS IS GOOD WRITING AND DIRECTION AND THATS BULLSHIT!”

I told you I wanted to complain about it the whole time. The second they get your feelings going on feels thats when being critical is over. I didn’t even care about the show i just thought Nolan shit the bed on Westworld season 3. Was so pissed. In my mind it ends at 2 and is perfect.
