Faucet is leaking from the assembly on brand new unit

Can’t figure out why it’s leaking from where it’s leaking when it’s leaking. It leaks from the hot when it turn on the cold, and cold when it turn on the hot. It stops when they’re both fully open but starts to gush from the hot when I turn off the cold.

Perhaps you should hire a real plumber. This is obviously exceeding your capacity as a DIY guy.

I'm going to strongly suggest you stop now and call a professional.

I partly knew what this was from the thumbnail but was hoping for the Money Pit

Tighten the inner hex nut at the base of each shaft. If it still leaks, then cut off water to faucet, unscrew them both, and put teflon tape on those threads. Re-tighten, reconnect water, and try again

If that doesn't work, then maybe you have a cartridge faucet and you didn't line up the notch when assembling it
