This week, our Thursday Starfinder party found themselves intruding on a number of civilians being forcefully converted into mutants by those who have already been turned: magical entities known as Sludgies!

The party flew into action and did battle along a toxic pit of sludge!

Almost by accident, our human soldier Bubbles managed to rescue one of the civilians (the only one of four to survive!)

Half our players, happy to survive a TOUGH battle!

Our other two players, digging into the Chinese food Ari brought. Always have session food!

The pit ended up getting quite a few people into it, but the party managed to drain it! Next week (session 142!) the party (tapped on resources) will need to choose to push ahead and maintain their surprise, or rest back at base and come back against alert foes!

Friday’s D&D session (106 of our second of ten planned, connected games) began with the party facing down Hyrsam’s guardian, a fey dragon, to witness the ritual they recently opened!

It turned out two be two rituals: one responsible for scrubbing the name Baba Yaga from the minds of all mortals, and casting an eclipse over the continent that blocked out the stars but also the eye of the crone Queen; and the other an infernal contract between two important NPCs and Levistus. If the party breaks the ritual, Baba Yaga will be able to return, but if they do not, Levistus may be freed from his icy tomb.

It turned out it wouldn’t be as easy as that; as they read, the defeated guardian of Hyrsam exploded into leaves and blossoms, and the huge, armored, Guardian of Alindor emerged for the second stage of the fight!

We had a tea party theme for one of the players birthdays; the tea cups are rolling trays with resin “tea” made by our own Tina!

When the second guardian was slain, a third, final guardian emerged; that of the archfey trickster Nythix, a gremlin riding a winged fey pig firing bots of chaos energy (randomized beams similar to beholders) emerged from the neck of the armor!

The other side of the table, strategizing as most are in the single digits (at level 12!) The party managed to slay the final guardian and now have access to the ritual, but are realizing that prophecies, songs, and portents from the last 105 sessions are suddenly making an awful lot of sense… VERY excited for Friday!

Shout to Tina just casually making a dragon during the session! This reminds me, we have another game tomorrow: the finale to our Old Gods of Appalachia game (GMed by Cara) Iron and Thorn will be at noon, you can join over at https://www.twitch.tv/alberonrpg we are not performers or anything (most of us work in nonprofit, mental health, education, or design) but we like having a record of the games we play every week!
