Finally mustered up the courage to recreate Strawberry dress!

I've been in love with Lirika Matoshi's iconic strawberry dress forever so I decided to try my hand at making it myself!

I didn't have time to wait for strawberry tulle to arrive (had less than a week's time to recreate the dress) so I used the fabric I already had in my stash.

Side note: I was so afraid to ruin the fabric! Still have few yards of it that I haven’t brought myself to cut into yet. I just go into my stash and pet it.

Amount of fabric used (for size 8)
Embroidered tulle: 4 metres
Tulle lining: 4 metres
Satin lining: 2 metres

Self-drafted, I used tulle, a peach base satin fabric and an embroidered tulle fabric.

It was a simple circle skirt of 3 layers and ruffles. Lots and lots of ruffles!

This dress took about 30+ hours to complete because I tried to take my time to avoid any mistakes. But with trial and error, finally made it. I spent in my currency around 55 USD give or take.

The dress just really sparks joy during these unsettling times. My post's intention is to inspire those who can’t own the original but have the skills to sew, so they can at least have their own version of the dress. A delicate symbol of hope and empowerment where we can feel like we're protagonists from an old romance novel.
