Cute duckling quacking

Ducklings are LOUD. Fuzzy and adorable, but also loud. Just look at how she puts her whole body into it.

Cool, Front Page. Send newts. Ducks are hungry.

I'm okay with that kind of loud

I miss mine being so tiny and fluffy. Enjoy! It will only last a few weeks. Ducks are the best!

When they’re grown and get used to only family they (pat) that’s the serene way of quacking

"YOU'RE NOT MY MOM!" - duckling probably

Yup. They're still pretty unsure of us.

Pekin ducks are very loud in general. I always had Khaki Campbells and they are generally quiet unless they are scared

I had a Pekin once who could announce clear from outdoors into the house that they wanted more food.

Why on earth would you be pecking them? I'll see myself out...

Doesn't he know he's not quacking correctly?

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My husband and I have around 40 of them. We enjoy watching them run around the field going to the pond

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

O.o that's a lot of ducks...

Piglets are AMAZINGLY loud too. Cute as buttons tho :D

Lol, I see too many on the vet shows we watch, no thanks. Possibly the only critter I’d never want to own.

First thing you learn is: always keep a kleenex under his tail.

Don't worry, one day she'll beable to run like it was the 90s

I love you

I didn't know I needed this in my life until now

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'll take six.

I brought my duckling into a theatre once (we couldn’t leave him in the car.) Let’s just say, the girl behind me was confused about the sfx.

First thing I learned from ducks is, they'll poop on you virtually every time you pick them up.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I lie. It was chicks that taught me that :P

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I want a new duck.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So did I. Now, I would have been just fine with an old, duck, too, but they seem rather hard to find around here.

That duck looks crippled - where are it's hands ?????

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Very, very tiny.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That trend goes into kids too ......talking when you are

My cat is now searching for the chick in the room.

And the chicks are bloodthirsty little velociraptors!

Is your name Karl?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

All non-predatory birbs are loud. They THRIVE on noise.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I haven't heard those peeps in ages. My family had ducks when I was a kid. It was great till a wild animal found the pond.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Girls are louder than boys in older age and they dig holes in your yard. Good luck! I love how many people have ducks on here!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Also, FYI, they only float for a little while, those fluffy baby feathers will waterlog and ducky will drown.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So i've read. They only have a shallow water bowl for now, we're waiting til they warm up to us a bit for their first proper sink swim.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Awesome! Unfortunately my kids discovered this the hard way :(

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They also peepoo everywhere

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Please, please tell me you don't only have ONE duckling! It's going to be screaming in terror all the time. You need two.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh no, she has a sister in the brooder. Probably why she was making such a fuss.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yay!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, any time we picked up one and not the other they would scream bloody murder, lol!

I have 6 of them. Be warned they get smelly and need fresh water anywhere from 1 to 3 times a day depending on the pool size. 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 240 Dislikes 0

what do they smell like? lol

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Duck poop

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hey or straw is better then shavings for the nesting area as well. Good luck with your new buddy they are lots of work but it worth it.

6 years ago | Likes 102 Dislikes 1

Oh yeah, they're a bit odiferous already but they'll be outside pets once it warms up. We've got them on wood pellets now.

6 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

Do you have heat lamps for them?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, but they don’t seem to need it. They’re 3wks and the brood room is 75*, they kept away when it was on.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ok. Then they might be a little to warm. Do you have something for them to swim in? That is a very important thing. And if you need (1/2)

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It can be totally worth it though. I raised a turkey from birth to sit on my shoulder and protect me when I fed the chickens.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

lol hopefully one day. They're pretty skittish right now.
