So, she's bitter about finishing in the top 5 (6), and she's focused on the person with whom she tied for 5th place? Not the other 4 cis women who did better.

This might be rhetorical, but... Would she even care about this at all if she finished 3rd?

One of the lower tiers of people are those who find profit in blaming others for their failures. Im reminded of some shitbird fencer who refused to fence a transwoman despite the competition not being gendered in the first place. Did it just to try and grift people who would be too out of the loop to know that and just balk at the idea a trans woman was allowed to compete at all

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Middling performers of all kind love to cling to blaming minorities to substitute their lacking ability with manufactured media outrage.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

There should be a third tier in sports for Trans Athletes. The way things currently stand does offer a truly competitive playing field for either one.

She was scum to begin with. Sue did what scum can only do

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Ain't she a Fox "News" drone now?

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

But then she couldn't make the rounds on Fox news telling people how much all of it negatively effected her for life and then be embarrassed by Trump who said to her face that he could outswim her because she's a woman, just look at the size difference...

4 months ago | Likes 182 Dislikes 12

To clarify, she only tied with Lia Thomas and there were 4 women who beat both of them. It was not a 5-way tie.

4 months ago | Likes 150 Dislikes 2

It doesn't matter. Thomas has probably been training since she was a kid, then had to swim against a Biological male? Biological males are on average bigger and stronger than biological females. Your average D1 basketball player is more athletic than the avg woman playing D1 college basketball or even in the WNBA: the women are slower and can't jump anywhere near as high as the men. Watch the Big women (centers): they're so slow and can't jump; most 7-footers playing NCAAM BB are very athletic

5-way tie would be as amusing as it is unlikely!

5 girls one thai, ill get the popcorn

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

One funny thing is that this b-list grifter dropped out of dental school to go on the rightwing grievance circuit, only to land on stage with Trump, whereupon he claimed that, being a big strong man, he could beat her in a race.

4 months ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 4

Also, creepy touched her.

4 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

It's almost implied if he stands next to a woman/girl under 25.

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

She came in tied for 5th, but was given the 6th place trophy to hold. Pettiest blond since Tom.

4 months ago | Likes 85 Dislikes 8

Regardless of placing, she probably trained for many years to swim at a university and like any athlete wants to place as high as possible. This is the same as a guy at a local public pool swim meet going up against other regular weekend swimmers, then have Michael Phelps show up.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

And they're identical.

4 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Trophy for 6th place? What's next? Trophy for participation?

4 months ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 3

It was the NCAA finals, just making it to that level is worth recognition

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This was an all NCAA competition, literally thousands of competitors. People with trophies from this are generally of a skill to go on and become Olympic medalists, easily. They give trophies to a lot more than the top 3

4 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

High school districts onwards has metals for top 6 finishes. And at states the top 15/16 get team points since you have to qualify for the final heats.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

? I was under the impression that they were both given 5th place... Making the crying and whining even more egregious when you find out that no position was actually lost.

4 months ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 4

Yup, both 5th place, but for the photoshoot right after she got to hold the #6 trophy because they didn't have 2 #5
Literally doesn't matter, but she got hella mad

4 months ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 3

I get why she would kinda care. But take some with the 6th then trade for more photos with the 5th

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Like after 3rd there just participation trophies

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

This is the dumbest take I've ever heard. Just being qualified for this event is ridiculously hard to do. Nobody at that tournament is getting in participation Trophy.

4 months ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

My hot take is having a memorial item for being a competitor is a fun idea. It’s like a badge you can show off to say you got out and did something

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Sorry, Your both right. I shouldn't downplay their accomplishment of getting to compete. It's just to me she was acting like she was robbed of a gold medal.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not only that! She had to WAIT for them to send her the corrected trophy for #5 as well!

Transphobia is mental disease, that's why.

4 months ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 8

Not a lot of money to be made in professional swimming, but there is a ton of money to be made as a professional anti-trans pundit on media shows.

4 months ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

Any excuse that's not admitting their own failure?

4 months ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 5

The grift. it pays a fucking lot.

4 months ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 4

Because it literally pays. Did you see the story about the fencer who took a knee and refused to compete against a trans woman? She sobbed her way into the alt-right news cycle and got awarded $5,000 USD for her publicity stunt by an anti-trans group.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Sauce would be nice

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Wouldn't everyone stop arguing if they just created a non-binary division of sports?

4 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

The percentage of people in that group or trans group are so tiny in sports it wouldn't be worth it.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

If you listen to Fox news 40% of the population is trans when in reality it’s < 1%.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

40%... (I know 1%) But just think about it.... Nice !!!

3 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And they're only transitioning so they can follow your daughters into the women's toilets apparently.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its a warped mind that belives someone would spend years pumping their body full of hormones, altering it at a genetic level to some degree, just to... *checks notes* go into a door and do something villianous that the door never would have stopped them from doing and being seen as a woman would not prevent them from suffering punishment for.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Most the time its because they imagine people would do what they would do. Every accusation is a confession for them.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gotta have those boogeymen.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Any notable differences for swimming between men and women? Is it just general strength? He seems significantly larger than her.

4 months ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 54

Hey fuck you lol

4 months ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 6

The woman on the left is much larger, and still the tiny one tied for 5th. So i don’t know. The small woman’s clearly a strong swimmer, maybe it should be more of a weight or height category.

No, Lia Thomas is a woman.

4 months ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Common man. Don’t delete your comments. We’re in an echo chamber here. You don’t think trans people should be playing in their identified league.
A lot of people agree and it’s nice to read something from the other side every now and then.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

More likely they were removed after being reported for transphobia. Anyway, I think this is a hacked account. Downvote, mute, report.

Considering they both tied for 5th place, nothing significantly notable I'd say

4 months ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 4

Indeed, it seems weight/height might be a better way to bracket people in swimming competitions.

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Being lanky is good for speed swimming, so her being taller with longer arms will be a benefit. I think she said she can't hold her breath as long post-transitioning though, which will be a deterrent.

4 months ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

That's true. But I don't think the person misgendering the lady in the photo was arguing in good faith

4 months ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I'm not misgendering, i'm not assuming anyone's gender as that is a personal intimate opinion that should be kept to each person's friends, lovers and spouses. I respect my friend's opinions: if my lady friend wants to be called "Richard" and wear man's clothes that's fine, i'll her "he/him" and not make a big deal out of it. But i don't care about such things with strangers, i treat people based on their sex, not gender. It's often conflated. People need to keep their intimacy to themselves.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

So you think that a person's genitals are not private, but presenting as a certain gender is a private thing? That is fucking weird.

4 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Well your acting like a whinny bitch so I think I’ll use those as your pronouns

4 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Is this an example of you not making a big deal out of it?
