Some rambling notes...

The networking software was Lantastic 6 and we'd never used it. We open the manuals at 5.30pm on Friday afternoon as the staff left, and with a weekend of pizza and coke, we got it all running at 3am on the Monday morning... a full 6 hours before deadline...

We used to always joke when something broke by saying "You need to reset the protocol buffers." I taught my kids now and it's a family meme.

I've lost of a lot of my skills as a Mac user. Just rarely get into command lines. A bit sad about that.

Also sad that my kids, even while gaming aren't really learning as much about computers as I got to. I bought a raspberry pi but hasn't caught on...

Man, I haven't touched Lantastic since the early 90s, I think.

Also, I used to love making robots, phone holders, and other decorations out of the 10baseT connectors and terminators.

And editing win.ini for removing the unnecessary programs that think (and some still do at this day and age) they need to start up when windows boots up.

Does this still work under windows 10+? I've uninstalled so many apps from it which came right back with every fucking update. It's so annoying I've stopped trying to block them.

I don't think it is still used. However there are some registry key (with regedit.exe) worth checking out : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and RunOnce and then there is somewhere a startup in the menu and an other option is looking in the task manager on the tab startup-apps (I'm translating from Dutch) not sure how it called exaclty)

Meh … 4+ people, each has a mobile, maybe 2 work phones, Smartwatches, some Kindles and an iPad, Hue Bridge, robot vacuum, couple of TVs and some other appliances, … 40+ clients isn’t far

3 phones, 4 watches, 4 cameras, 2 TVS, 4 speakers, 5 computers, 1 games console, 1 VR kit, 1 digital art board,...

Thanks for the detail! I started counting mine and for 2 people, we have about 10 and a lot less tech than you (no watches or tablets or cameras or VR, all speakers are passive and wired to standard hi-fi), so your estimate makes sense! Cheers!
