AI can be tricked into giving a research paper a glowing review. I wonder if it works with resumes??

Always have. Remember putting every keyword in 1 point type? Or white font color? Or the metadata

Thing is, I don't think anyone would mind if it was done for altruistic purposes, but the way things are structured as a gold rush mean the incentives are all wrong. Training AI takes a lot of power and chips to train, both of which are expensive and the AI industry is sucking up whatever limited supply it can get of both on the speculation that they'll be first to get any money that comes from it. Never mind things like building out common power infrastructure first, that doesn't benefit them

A good way to find if a journal is lazy and uses AI to review papers. Update that Beall's list of predatory journals and publishers.

@op, find a job posting for a job you want. Go to ChatGPT and say “use this job description “copy and paste in the job description section” and update my resume for that job and make it ATS compliant” and upload your resume (not a perfect prompt but close as I can be bothered right now). You have to double check it to make sure it isn’t making things up or changing it too much, but that’s pretty much it
