I have no idea what this is.
I'm hoping someone out there has an idea.

I have a bunch of these too. Found them in Iowa, that apparently used to be covered by a large sea back in the day these were alive.
venomlash
Thatis a scleractinian coral. Fairly recent in geologic terms; they've only been around since the late Triassic.
That's cool!
cousteau
It was old back then, and now it's 25 years older!
CyberstormII
My best guess is fossilised coral
ElmurFud
Some type of Blushing Star Coral or close relative I'd guess.
I had a feeling that's what it was, but I wasn't sure.
RatoMolhado
Lick it, just to be sure.
Rock flavored.
ColdestOne
MuseMatar
Definitely going to be a coral. Awesome find!
That's cool. Found it several hundreds of miles from the Texas coast. I find a lot of fossilized shells here, but nothing else like this.
Yeah I believe that area used to be a shallow sea.
It was, during the Cretaceous. I'm not too far from where the shore was, bythe Paluxy river. Lots of Acrocanthasaurus footprints there.
