Frictional folding knife "Harpy"

Hello everyone!

I hasten to share another novelty - a handcrafted folding knife "Harpy", made by me.

"Harpy" is a simple and charismatic friction-type folding knife. Due to the design features (compactness and the absence of a blade lock), such a tool can be used as needed, even in a crowded place, without attracting the attention of others.

A short video review of a compact and charismatic thing - a frictional folding knife "Harpy".

So, let's take a closer look at its characteristics.

Specifications:

Blade material: BOHLER N690 steel (61 HRC).
The total length of the knife in the unfolded state: 160 mm (6.3 inches).
Blade length: 65 mm (2.56 inches).
Blade thickness: 2.6 mm (0.10 inches).
Blade design: carving "broken stone", "grey stonewashed", "satin", laser engraving.
Knife design: "friction folder" ("folding frictional type").
Handle material: vintage linen micarta.

Let's take a closer look and in more detail.

As an option. While there is not a custom knife for customization ...

Fictional? Looks real enough to me.

Maybe I made a mistake somewhere, I mean: "Frictional folding knife"

How, exactly, does the absence of a locking mechanism affect one's ability to use it in a crowded place without attracting attention?

I just wanted to say that this is a tolerant knife: due to its design, it is allowed in many European countries

If you’re expecting knives to come out the sound of a friction lock is a dead give away, most have a nice distinct click to them.

It's pretty easy to open them slowly so the click isn't audible. The part that gets you is that it's still visible

Depends on how practiced you are with a knife and how big your hands are, I can palm a 6” friction lock without it being visible and open

A butterfly in a reverse grip. In an actual fight anything that cues an opponent that it’s suddenly become a knife fight is to be avoided

The last time I had to actually fight like that I stabbed two of my attackers, disabling one before they even realized there was a knife out
