He’d auditioned in bulky clothing because at the time he was (as he himself put it) “a string bean”. They were originally gonna put him in a muscle suit under his costume because he was so skinny that they didn’t think he could put on enough muscle legitimately. So he trained like hell, put on that muscle, and they were satisfied to the point where he would no longer need to have fake muscles under his costume.
He looked great but nowadays with the proliferation of bodybuilding, he’d probably get roasted for that physique on r/bodybuilding by some dudes on a bro split and supplements (“never skip leg day!” etc.)
Christopher Reeves *was* Superman. Unfortunately, after Superman 2, the writers ran out of ideas for movies. Doomsday killing Christopher Reeves would have had me crying as much as when Spock died

It's a culture fueled by Hollywood too, very few actors get to be leading men without being juice monkeys.

It's less they ran out of ideas, then that they had bad ideas, and got nickle and dimed when making them

I could be wrong but I believe the Death of Superman plotline came years after the last Reeves film.
Rulesy
Yea it was published in 1992, 5 years after Superman IV
