Hi!

Noita, an indie game our team of 3 has been working on for the past ~5 years, was just showcased at the E3 PC Gaming Show!

The game's an action roguelite where every pixel is physically simulated, meaning that its made of different materials that can be manipulated in a lot of different ways, and that interact with each other; lava evaporates water, acid dissolves stuff, and so on.

Here the player destroys a wooden container full of poison.

And here the player sets a pond of oil on fire, melting the snowman and causing it to tumble down.

You can watch the new trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vXE-2Rg01E
Aaand see the Steam page here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/881100/Noita/

Thanks!

Any plans for multiplayer? Considering this game gives me a Starbound vibe it seems like it'd be interesting with friends.

This look seriously amazing! I can’t wait to play the shit out of it.

"available when it's done" would be great if all games held themselves to the same standard

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It's been an inspiration!

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I dont blame you. Liero was a legend of a game back in the days.

Is there a chance this is coming for console?.... too broke for a good pc.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This looks really intriguing. I hope you came up with lots of interesting puzzles surrounding your main mechanic. Definitely buying.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wishlisted it.

Dust game and Terraria had a baby

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Reminds me of Falling Sands.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

The engine we made for the game is actually called the Falling Everything engine!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1000% buying this regardless if it's good or not. I'm such a sucker for these kinds of physics.

So is this dead now?

Any plans for multiplayer PVP?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i usually doot quite a few things with the intent on coming back to them after work. This one I really will check out after work.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Finally destructible particles done right

7 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 2

check cortex command for the same kind of destructible particules

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Cortex Command had promises but last I checked ended up bungling up a whole bunch of it.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Those fucking particles had it coming for a long time. Now we will have our revenge.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Check out Jelly In The Sky. Seems like this game stole idea.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 12

Dude.. you seriously thing that having destructible environments is a tired idea? No one has managed to do it right. Let people like things

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This idea has been ages. I remotely remember a game from late 90s or early 00s with same style graphics.

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Nothing original anyway. Now even indie game devs can't produce something truly original.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 9

Let's hear your original idea then if it's so easy

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

The pianist game: dress up in tuxedos and shout pianist louder than the previous person.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I gess I missed my own comment where I said that it is easy. Can you point it out for me?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Mobile game single click runner called smudges that you play with your nose. Graphics are split so you can only see them when super close.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Rpg that's riddled with bugs, and the NPCs just sort of deal with it, albeit sadly. The player fixes the bugs and makes the game completable

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So that means you have money...Buy an ad!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

On Imgur?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yes...that's where those promoted posts come from?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And Reddit. Reddit is a bigger platform to advertise on. Alternatively start getting active here and just posting funny gifs every now and>

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

>then from stuff you are working on. Make people interested.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#2 Here the player *fucks himself up bad.

7 years ago | Likes 317 Dislikes 3

Think he fucked himself up more when he fell into the fire lmao #3

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

That shit had my in tears when he jumped out burning

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I mean, both of the gameplay gifs are "Here's the player making some terrible decisions they immediately regret"

7 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Call me crazy, but the ability to do this to yourself (provided the save system isn't too brutal) is something I really like in a game.

7 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 0

Original magicka was great fun with friends for this

7 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

This. If that game was a little longer I'd still be playing it right now. Shame the second one was dumbed down for console compatibility.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Funnily enough the first one had a patch just a few days ago. Didn't check what they did in it though.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Steam says it's just fixes and GDPR

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh that looks pretty cool, normally I don't go for old school games but this looks pretty neat with the physics you've included. Sold.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks :)

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I saw it on the PC Showcase!I thought it looked beautiful and really fun!You guys should be proud!Any plans to bring it to consoles as well?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We're currently concentrating on getting the game ready for PC; once that's done we'll look at console port possibilities

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0
