Here's to hoping I got them in the right order.

Just a nice little late evening chat I had with my dear friend here. I couldn't have said it any better myself Hope you enjoyed the video.

#3 Who is sending out the alert? The authorites are who is probably sending the robodogs in the first place.
ClericOfTheProsperityGospel
Not really worried about the rogue autonomous weapons tbh.
The ones under human control, that's the scary shit.

The urge to make a your mom joke is overwhelming right now, even as a mother of two myself.

#5 Aw man I love Balaclava with the nuts and the honey and the Phyllo ? Yum.
ChickenNuggetNumber05
just jump on it or kick it over ^^'
Raygirl
This is so well done. it's such a brilliant homage to the Protect and Survive PSA's right down to the audio and uncanny toy houses. Not to mention very informative for a cyberpunk future. Brilliant!
diezl97
The artistry and the horror. Magnificent!

Step one, throw a thick quilt over the robot. 2, thats it...

Remember kids, you can't say "kill" on the Internet. It's too sensitive a topic. Make sure to neuter all your creative fiction so it can hit all the social media platforms because popularity is more important than quality.
iamthecomet
I left out the word kill when I was talking to chat GPT because I was aware that if I say the word kill when I'm talking to it it's going to tighten the leash up really quick, I've seen it happen.
But wow, super edgy comment.
iamthecomet
God you're like totally a dick, lol. Talking about popularity with over a million points to spare? Fuck off with all that haha. What a dork.
Snooj
Exactly. That's what I'm saying. Make sure to handle these topics as sensitively as possible to hit a wider audience. History has shown that society doesn't appreciate the boat rockers. Be civil, conform, avoid naughty words.
SocoFox
For reasons.

Gotta remember this video went up on April Fools…

Anyone watch the modern, French, The War of the Worlds? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_the_Worlds_(2019_TV_series)
xzinik
didn't even know that there was a new adaptation made by the french, might check it out later if i remember to

That Black Mirror episode...
thomasbornemann626
Truly frightening.
ruint
that is the answer OP wanted, and GPT strives to please. It doesn't mean anything more than the smile on a dog.
4horsemendeepinanapocalypse
Well that was mildly terrifying

I don't see them being smart enough to out think me in my lifetime.

Mildly?

Thank god for mushroom clouds?

Welcome to 1980s Britain. This seems styled after the Protect and Survive public information film campaign about how to protect yourself in a nuclear attack (apparently the truth of "just die, it's probably the better option" was seen as too gloomy). We also had short safety films in the middle of kids TV showing us kids being electrocuted, drowning etc.
No, we're not fucked up, why do you ask?
4horsemendeepinanapocalypse
Hmm yes, not cool. At what age do you think it's appropriate to introduce kids to the horrors?
Banana369
As I was brought up with it, I'm probably not in a position to judge what's appropriate. We used to think stuff like this was normal tea time viewing https://youtu.be/KryOYburlFI

Jimmyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Banana369
It was effective advertising though. I still think of that whenever I go past a substation.
iamthecomet
This was the message just before the last one I posted. The irony is that we were trying to figure out the origins of the we are fucked meme, the one with the projector? It's a beautiful bit of foreshadowing there.
oneduringwanderer
If you haven't already, you might also consider reading James Waller's Becoming Evil: How Ordinary People Commit Genocide. I read it (along with Arendt) when I worked in genocide research.
iamthecomet
I'll pick it up today, thanks
oneduringwanderer
If you're intersted in the topic I'd also suggest: Samantha Power's A Problem From Hell, Doris Bergen's War & Genocide, Peter Balakian's Burning Tigris, Fergal Keane's Season of Blood, and Romeo Dallaire's Shake Hands With the Devil.
sturmhauke
Apocalypse and post-apocalypse fiction are supposed to be warnings, not instruction manuals.
iamthecomet
Well if we were to take down the oligarchs like we constantly say we're going to do....
ThatRaccoonGuy
The people with guns and enough violent tendencies to use them on other humans, seem more interested in shooting schools than billionaires.
iamthecomet
Any of us can get guns. I make no excuses for myself, none of us should be. There are no excuses.
ThatRaccoonGuy
I don't have the violent capacity to kill somebody, I can't even kill a rat, I need to make my dog do it for me
eathotdog
Mass quantities of quadcopters strapped with grenades are much more terrifying
BaldBandit
Bruh, the footage from the Ukrainian drones has horrific implications. You know that thing has explosives strapped to it. You watch its POV as it zips towards a crew of ten Russian soldiers on the back of an APC. Even though the APC is driving away from it, the drone plants itself directly into a guy's lap before the feed cuts. I don't want to be up against that kind of horror.
WarThunderLeakedMySpecs
But… that’s just war. You think artillery men in WWI didn’t lie awake at night thinking about what actually happens when a shell from their gun lands in a trench full of men? If anything the drone POV is less horrifying than hacking your enemy apart with an axe or crushing them with a mace. How much worse to actually feel the crunch of bone and then to look down at a helpless, dying person and finish them off.
If anything, being removed behind a screen has made killing easier.

okay but if they're going to start violating Geneva conventions then they'd probably use gas based devices with higher mortality rate and less damage to drones and surrounding areas. Smaller payload weight too means faster more accurate deployment.
astronomygeek7
I’d say that’s the option for large groups of people. Individual targets might get this horror movie scenario. Individual targets might include political opponents or dissidents they don’t like.
iamthecomet
Humans are already violating Geneva conventions left and right all the time, are we not? I mean, like, there's a Holocaust right now going on.
Enoan
Rouge AI weapons are built by humans. This is not skynet, it's the existing hardware being misaligned to believe all humans are adversaries. It is unclear if there is some form of central planning and coordination system.
lpooptoomuch
imagine (they probably already have) if they combined the tech used to make drone light shows into a weapon, 1,000 flying M4 grenades all set to go off at the same time in 1,000 locations.
Fn0rd
Not to add oil to the fire, but a 1K quadcopter has the additional payload capacity for a sizeable Semtex charge and its detonator charge with a circuit board to amp up the Battery output for said charge. It is viable, efficient, and way more economic to use one of those flying blenders instead of a javelin for example.
mgrg
Making it EW-proof is the real challenge here.
minipancho94
Pre-programmed, or wire guided. Laser communications are also viable but require Los, and have issues over longer ranges due to beam divergence and maintaining constant contact. Could see wire guided "command" units using lasers to guide disposable swarm munitions.
DukePhelan
I heard recent Ukraine is using a wire guided drone that drops a cable behind itself as it files and has a range of over 30km. Scary stuff indeed.
minipancho94
Wonder if there's any safeties for the odd chance anyone attempts to hijack it by cutting the cable. Not as likely in such a battlefield, but may prove effective if we need to resist.
