No folds just excellent heat treat with high quality steel.

Did you sharpen the top? i tried that but it made splitting big logs difficult (hitting it with a branch).

That's a swedge up top, it's not sharp. I made that one for a guy going overseas

I use a belt grinder, slack belt, I start with 60 grit and work up to 2000 grit then strop on leather

Convex for strength? Or for easier sharpening over time?

Legend is if you un- Sheath a Kukri sword you have to draw blood even if you cut your own skin it must be done
