Is that Phil McCracken?

Still gotta strike the mortar joints, but it beats the bag.

Damn

This kills the drill.

I'm sorry but that looks like crap to me. Just place real rocks the right way, not this faux crap with goop hanging over the blocks facades.

Talk about an over engineered solution. The usual method is called a grout bag. They're less than 10 bucks, and function like a bakers icing bag. This method ruins a perfectly good drill that needs battery packs...

DeWalt eats abuse the way I eat pizza.

Looks like an average wall, at best. It's not even that high.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Could you use it for mashed potatoes?

1 month ago | Likes 69 Dislikes 1

Probably wash it first

I was using that twenty years ago. This isn't new.

Well, that will definitely "cure" your diarrhea real quick

Do NOT tell me this is unskilled labor.

Add fart noises.

but where will the lizards hide?

It's a mortar bukkake machine

1 month ago | Likes 52 Dislikes 2

We dont go to mortar any more.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mortar? Barely bukkake'd her.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This looks like a satisfying job

That poor drill

1 month ago | Likes 245 Dislikes 6

Seriously. Sacrifice a cheap ass black and decker. Maybe the dewalt is from a pawn shop?

1 month ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 4

Eh, same company so probably using the same components anyway.

1 month ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 3

Check out Project Farm on YouTube. Great reviewer of these sorts of things. DeWalt is better than most.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But this is less than $10 and doesn't run out of batteries halfway through a wall...

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Looks like a hand cramp waiting to happen

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Grouting is possibly the least strenuous activity a mason does. Maybe raking the joints later is a bit easier.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

DeWalts are built for abuse.

This isn't a brand endorsment. My first power drill was a dewalt I literally dug out of the mud when it was lost by a contractor. I literally pulled the battery off of it, hosed it down, let it dry, then put the battery back on and it works perfectly to this day. It has an extended battery and I bought an aftermarket charger on scamazon. There's a reason they charge so fucking much for it.

And most of the power tools I own are DeWalt, I was just memeing. Their hedge trimmer is the shit

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it is. Damn near cut my finger clean off with one.

Shit is cheap.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

cheap is not what it used to be. There are million dollar houses that are built like shit.

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Million until three families quote 200k over asking

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its not the result we are seeing, its the process

Shit is so in right now

Reminds me of that tiktok woman who bought an old house and absolutely fucking ruined it with shitty design

You talking about THE fireplace?

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Now I'm curious! Any sauce for THE fireplace story?

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's rustic

1 month ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 11

Those spots at the bottom left where it's just oozing out is really catching my eye.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This just the start of the process. It looks fine when finished and even better after a bit of time and weathering.

1 month ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

There's a fantastic guy on Youtube who spends months/years rebuilding very old abandoned farm style buildings in Europe. He uses this technique for his stone work (he does a LOT of stone work) and the projects take long enough that you can see the ugly grouting become very nice looking. First time I saw it, I said "Oh that looks like shit." but then saw the results and changed my mind.

1 month ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Legitimate question. Do you have a picture of what the finished product will be or know what the process is called? I wouldn't know what words to Google.

1 month ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not done. You gotta wait a bit for to cure to the right level, then you smooth it. Then a bit later, clean and texture it.

1 month ago | Likes 151 Dislikes 0

That's 100 percent correct. I tried one of these and they don't work as good as the grout bags, and trash the drill.

1 month ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

yup, but this is such a pain in the ass job to do that you'd try anything to go faster

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It sure is, and u gotta beat the Sun too!

Lol, I'm learning Blender rn and understood this, I feel so proud.
