So I've been trying to learn how to fully utilize my gigabit internet for about 2 days now and have just been overwhelmed by the amount of terms. My ISP (spectrum) told me to get an internet switch and connect it to the modem down here at this panel and connect the many teal colored ethernet cables you see their. I know i don't have any ethernet ports in any of the rooms to hardwire it through the wall but i do have coaxial wall outlets. If anyone could help me in this situation that would be awesome!

With the (green) cables already there, you might be lucky and find the other ends behind the coax faceplates on the wall. Good luck

Internet Coax -> Modem -> Ethernet to Router (WiFi) ... those are most likely phone cable rj11 not ethernet rj45

They are actually cat5e & RJ45, if you look super close at it. @OP, you sure you don't have ethernet wiring behind the wall plates?

You're right about the RJ11. Didn't see that before. WIFI would be an option, but that would be a huge bottleneck on the Gigabit line

I suspect the coax outlets in your rooms are for TV and radio, no?

For 1Gpbs Ethernet you'll need at least Cat5e Ethernet (preferably Cat6) cables. Gigabit and up uses all 8 conductors of the cable.

Correct

Can’t get that speed over coaxial. Looks like you do have Ethernet wired in your rooms though. You even have a punch down block.

What would be the best option then to do ij your opinion? Unless I'm doomed from the start

Well first you need a cheap toner to see what wire goes where. Then a router/switch to get physical connections that speed.

Probably look like phone jacks. But you could take off the wallplate in the room and switch out with Ethernet if you have a 6 wire going to

You have to get a router/switch to go from the spectrum modem to the new router and connect all the green cables. Then find the other ends

Gotcha. Yeah, the technician told me about the network switch and connecting all the green cables. Would the other ends just be certain(1/2)
