Cat has a hematoma needs urgent surgery
Vet is estimating $1500
I am disabled, losing health insurance and might be evicted next month
I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.
One of the loan services they use approved me for $200 but the other ones looked at my lack of credit and medical debt and said haha no.
If anyone can help we would appreciate it so very much. I hate seeing her suffer.

I've had a cat that had hematomas in both his ears. The upside is that it can be fixed with surgery.. The downside (that they don't always tell you about) is that it will most likely require MULTIPLE surgeries unless they put in a shunt to let it keep draining. But don't feel too bad, because if you can't afford multiple surgeries, it's USUALLY a cosmetic problem only. The cat will be perfectly okay, but will have a funny looking ear for life. Sometimes they can be troublesome, so ask your vet.

Oh man both ears? That’s horrible
She actually has this kind of scrunchy grumpy face and I didn’t notice the ear bc it just looked like she was angry face. Cosmetic wise I am not too concerned.

If you're not too worried about the cosmetics, then she'll be okay overall even if it fills up again. The blood will just harden and she'll have a funny looking crinkly ear that you might have to help her clean out every now and then. I've seen it three times in two different cats, and the first vet didn't tell me it was a purely cosmetic issue for the cat until AFTER he charged us $800 to do the surgery and didn't put in a shunt, knowing it would fill back up.

I guess they are sewing the flaps of her ears shut to prevent it from happening in the future? I don't know much about this particular cat injury, have never dealt with this one.

Hopefully they've got better solutions than when I had to deal with it. I wish you luck and hope your kitty has the speediest recovery she can!
