The Wayback Machine has a library you can rent books off of. It’s pretty good. Got me through a lit class.

www.findhelp.org is another good one. They help with food, paying bills, and other free/reduced cost programs.

Only In us :/

Ok, this is actually a useful list unlike 99% of them, and there are some gems in the comments too.

I've had radio garden for ages... It's worth getting.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thriftbooks.com has a lot of new and used books for cheap, and I think they've expanded

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Archive.org also has tons of live music recordings (3k+ Grateful dead shows), and every issue of dragon magazine.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I feel like we should be contributing money to them. It's so damn valuable. Same with Snopes. Which actually is soliciting money. Think 1/

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

how often we go there or send people there. 2/2

Thanks mate - I just tried locallingual.com and checked out some Australian cities and towns, hilarious eh

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

park4night.com for free parking, also in/close to big cities.

Is mathway better or worse than wolfram alpha?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I personally find mathway easier to use

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I find them both inferior to Symbolab and Desmos. Wolfram is best for the nitty gritty of the mathematicians when you need a calc proof.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Having your math problems solved without actually knowing how to do them will eventually bite you in the ass.

Save you the trouble, locallingual introductory phrase for Australia is ''Oi Cunt''

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

looks like the domain for locallingual.com has expired

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Australian "Aloha"

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's also a mathematical term here … mate ??

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ah the old octocunt, very serious charge that one.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Noisli became shit though didn't it? Last I checked you have to sign in and there's a daily limit. People were pissed.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

i use the calm app for other things so using its background sounds function is ideal.. but its not a cheap app :/

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just use youtube study music videos that are a few hours long (with adblock plus). Varied and free

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just download them as an mp3 and then play them on repeat with a music player like poweramp.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's also a podcast that is hours of white or brown noise with no interruptions

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Uhh… isn’t the math one cheating? Solves problems for you? I believe that’s called cheating.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It depends on the class. Try doing a RREF on a 10 row matrix for Matrix algebra. Takes for fucking ever, so most profs allow calculators.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I personally have no problem students using a site like this to double-check their work. However, if you don't try to solve the problems 1/?

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

yourself, all that will accomplish is that you will fail the class because you are sure not going to be able to use it on the exams. 2/2

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

When you get to a lot of higher level math classes profs will let you use calculators for simpler functions because they tend to accumulate.

Radio.garden!? Time to blast some Middle Eastern music in my racist cesspool of a city!

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

That's the spirit!

Sleep cycles are highly individual, so don’t trust a site that claims it can calculate it. Fitbit etc can monitor your sleep and try to /

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Wake you up at a favorable time.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It gives 4 different times to fall asleep based on when you have to wake. I think it's more suggestive than anything else

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Nice, I'm definitely going to use these. *Favorites and forgets*

4 years ago | Likes 352 Dislikes 2

You never know, one day you might decide to go through your favorites and re-find a gem.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This!

4 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

I'll also leave a comment so I can get back to it! *forgets*

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Probably have multiple of this exact one in the pile already, but what's one more?

I’ve used sleepyti.me for years. It is insanely accurate.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

BIG THANX!! using noisli.com right now, and with zero regret

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We struggle with groceries but mostly because my wife won't eat most things and we waste a bunch of money on the same bland food every week

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can recommend "A Soft Murmur" as an alternative to Noisli.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You should also check https://radiooooo.com/

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Man this one is great! Just discovered 2 local artists that I had never heard of before! Check out https://everynoise.com/ to find genres!

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It seems HTTPS IS not installed correctly. Pages Nevers stop refreshing. To Bad... It's not even that hard to do...

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

In fact it's not a ssl issue, it's an anti Adblock... So I won't use it cause that not thé way site should work.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They also have an app that you can use with your screen locked ;) At least on Android

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Freecampsites is amazing if you live in the western US. So much BLM land that’s free to camp at in amazing locations.

4 years ago | Likes 109 Dislikes 6

Kind of funny that the pic is not a free campsite.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bureau of Land Management, for those confused like I was.

4 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

I spent a week of the ‘van-life’ in July out West, and an old buddy recommended mobile app: FreeRoam for real-time updates regarding BLM.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The downside is that if you’ve been going to a spot for decades and it shows up on a website, there goes your peace and quiet

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Black Lives Matter lands?

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

True, but in CO and UT for example, I’ve seen a lot of awesome free campsites get closed off for over usage or privatization. Sad.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

In Finland and Sweden we have this ”freedom to roam”, right to access land temporary. Can camp and tent anywhere, but no for bushcraft.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

And norway. Wanted to go tenting abroad, and only then realized this is not a normal thing in the world

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Basically we can put a temporary shelter and camp for one night. Picking berries or mushrooms is also ok.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah we have the same in Iceland, called Almannaréttur in Icelandic

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Archive.org is also a great place to host podcasts for free.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Isn’t the whole point of being a student to learn the problems and how to solve them. Not just ‘google’ it

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 8

There are multiple jobs where ''googling stuff'' should be about 90% of job description, so it's a good skill nontheless

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Unless googling is the fastest way to solve the problem. Especially if it determines whether you eat tonight or not.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Sounds like your math education never got past calc 2. Doing a Diff EQ problm or a Matrix Algebra problem on paper would take literal hours.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's for checking yourself. I got my bachelor's in mechanical engineering, and not one professor cared about homework. It's only practice.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

This! I am a data science grad student. I love mathway for checking my work after I go through the problems on my own. Not everyone cheats

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ahh fair play. I didn’t even consider it as an aide to check you have solved it correctly. I stand corrected. Thank you :)

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There's no way that last one is real, right?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is, but their "meals" consist of just beans and rice...google search them and their reviews.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Finding a cheap multivitamin would be worth the investment on this type of diet.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Just beans and rice is hell of a lot better than 2 big macs

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I just looked at their site, and they changed things sinc the last time I looked at it...it's mostly pasta based now, with 1 lentil dish

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Very, very carb heavy meals there...

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

It is more along the lines of get fed or remain hungry rather than is this the balanced meal .

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I mean, food help is food help.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yes but it is only in Eastern US. Florida and NY

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh wow this is huge, thanks!
