These competitors train on a brutal schedule, because the match's are won by parts of a millimeter. This level of precision is incredibly hard to achieve. I competed for years (archery as well) and likely shot 90% as well as these guys. That last 10% is the different between ranked at the city & state level to a champion. Fwiw, shooting has been in the Olympics since 1896, this is nothing new.
Target shooting is a skill. If you think you can just pick up a gun and shoot accurately without training and practice, cool, enter the Olympics next time
