How close is too close to a house/foundation when setting a fence post?

Was planning to set a post here and figured I would consult with the hive mind first. Is this a bad idea? Should I do a small ledger instead?

It's kind of like your sexual orientation, it's up to you.

You probably want to go deeper than your frost line though, because if you don't then it will heave out of the ground during the winter.

How far down should I go if I'm leveling it off a bit above, adding a Simpson post tie and lag nut, adding 4 posts 0.5-1ft up, sub floor and then another 6-7ft up; 8ft is the target height? This hole is 1.5ft currently. Thanks btw

Id go two feet.
A foot for concrete and thatll leave plenty of room for coverage above.
Hammer some nails into the bottom of your posts to grip the concrete better.
