Unpopular opinion: this is neither funny nor appropriate. You go on a ride for the adrenaline rush while still knowing you are safe. Being legitimately frightened that something might be broken and you may be in real danger would absolutely fucking ruin the experience. I would be furious if someone did this to me.

Being delicate to panic attacks but wanting to ride an extreme adrenaline producing activity where the probability is very high to just get a panic attack without the operator doing such a prank is extremely idiotic per se. Why even get into such a situation in the first place? Literally 95% of the people here in the comments find this funny yet here you are making it bad for others because YOU might get a panic attack. Well, I got a solution for you: don’t do this type of activity then.

Whenever I hear someone bash “wokeness” I try to explain that being woke just means to be aware and be empathetic to the person next to you. But this over the top attitude of you having to type it into a comment section is pretty narcissistic. Learn how to read. Besides that, learn how to think. There's a huge difference between going on a thrill ride that you think is safe versus being on a ride that you not just think is, but ostensibly has been shown to be, broken. The point of this prank is to make people think the ride has broken just as they're about to be dropped, and that's some mean shit.

This isn't people who are afraid of rollercoasters going on them when they know they're scared, then getting upset. This is that employee purposely making the riders think that the ride is broken or that he did something wrong, and that is not what anybody signed up for. That's the guy going out of his way to say or do something to frighten people over the top.

Plus, it's not like thrill rides are the safest thing in the world. Can you honestly say you've never heard of someone being injured or even killed on a ride? There's a reason why safety procedures are in place, and this dude is just being a dick because he thinks it's funny to scare people.
