I liked that i could set events years out. Invited a bunch of coworkers to my 100th birthday party in the large conference room

More quality code from MS.

Lotus Sametime is ancient, but still a much better app than the garbage that is MS Teams.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Note wasn't that good, but Sametime was the best. Now we use Teams and it is just unbelievably bad.

What do you expect? Mississippi is like 49th in programming.

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Yeah it is. Fuck you Alabama!

Logging out and clearing the cache clears the notification

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Thank you. Cuz I know this will be my problem monday.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

this feature is often turned off in an enterprise

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

IT guy here. Please, no.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Too late, just did this to the help desk group. -Another IT Guy that wants to punish anyone for thinking teams is a viable option.

My company removed the delete message feature unfortunately

Damn you, sir. Damn you for creating an itch that can never be scratched.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

what kind of records retention policy lets people delete teams messages?

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Work in a big international corporation...it works for me.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*worked

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We allow our users to delete their own teams messages, however it is strictly cosmetic. They are visible in compliance searches for 7 yrs

2 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Ya'll gonna get sued over something someone said 5 years ago.

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Depending on their industry they could get PROSECUTED for NOT keeping this data for 7+years.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Bingo, and lets not forget. Compliance policies are for the interest of the employer, NOT the employee.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Our retention policy is such that all Teams messages get deleted after 24 hours

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You can disable the feature

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Bizarrely, we can delete but not edit. They just turned edit off a couple months ago

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Im doing this to the whole sales team on monday.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This is the quality content I crave.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

teams has gone from a passable copy of slack to downright hodgepodge of stupid features that no one asked for can't turn off and don't work

2 years ago | Likes 198 Dislikes 0

It says it works on Linux, but you have to be on Windows to register for it. Fuck that.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Seems to be a theme for microsoft. See also: skype, windows, office

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Dear God I hate Teams. I never read the chat messages. And THERE'S NO WAY TO MARK ALL AS READ.

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

How is the search so bad?????

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My company uses teams and SharePoint. We're not allowed to send links to SharePoint folders now because OneDrive shows the whole file path

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In case someone doesn't know. You can edit any hyperlink into any text in pretty much every Office product.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Funny cause I like every part of teams except the group chat Slack style part, the design is just terrible, my whole team hates it

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

So in other words it became slack?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

my company went from slack to teams bc hipaa and my god i fucking hate teams. it doesn't help the CSRs are fucking stupid

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

My company changed from slack to teams to save money. I swear they've lost more in lost man hours to that shit software than keeping slack

Client was invited to a teams meeting, sent to their main work email address. They joined. A month later they decided teams was a good 1/

2 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

idea, and tried to create an account. "You need to talk to the admin". Turns out being invited to a meeting before they created an 2/

2 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

account linked their domain to the admin system of the company that sent the first meeting invite. That took a while to unravel. 3/3

I had to use teams for online college during the pandemic, my colleges IT department wasnt the greatest, took two months for them to 1/2

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Realise that they had accidentally given everyone in the calls the ability to mute everyone. Students kept muting the teacher. 2/2

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Start a meeting alone and teams will keep your PC from sleep mode and will show you as busy until you leave the meeting. Your welcome

I just use a light weight mouse jiggle program while I WFH and go do my own thing (gov't employee - state tax dollars at work...kinda)

Ty

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I have python and pyautogui for that, but perhaps this is simpler

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You can also share your screen with yourself in the meeting and it will update your status to 'presenting'

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sir, i am indebted to you - THANK YOU!

Pretty sure the notification still says who it's from, but I'll need to test it on my coworkers a few times just to be sure.

And that's how I met your mother... in HR.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Does it count as losing your job when you die from getting shanked in the break room before you talk to HR?

2 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0
