The dimly lit meeting room of the Imperial Security Bureau buzzed with tension, illuminated only by the pale blue glow of the holoprojector. Lieutenant Dedra Meero stood rigidly, her white uniform pristine and her voice sharp as she presented her findings. A flickering hologram of Luthen Rael, the shadowy figure code-named "Axis", loomed above the circular table.
“Grand Moff Tarkin,” she began, her words deliberate, “our latest intelligence confirms Axis’s network is more expansive than we initially believed, spanning both core and outer rim territories. This isn’t a fractured rebellion. It’s a coordinated movement.”
Tarkin’s sharp gaze never left the hologram. “And his current location?” he asked, his tone cold and commanding.
Dedra tapped the console, causing the hologram to shift to a star map. “Our agents intercepted encoded transmissions originating from the Arkanis sector. We believe he is using a heavily modified freighter to avoid detection. With authorization, I recommend deploying interceptors and a small fleet to cut off his escape.”
One of the other officers, an older man with a steely demeanor, interjected. “If we act prematurely and he escapes again, the Emperor will not be pleased. We cannot afford another failure.”
Tarkin’s expression remained unreadable as he clasped his hands behind his back. “Failure is not an option. Lieutenant Meero, you will oversee this personally. Coordinate with Naval Command and ensure Axis has no avenue of retreat. If this rebel troublemaker continues to elude us, it will only embolden the insurrection.”
Dedra nodded, her determination unwavering. “Understood, sir.”
The room fell silent as the officers digested the gravity of the mission. The flickering image of Luthen Rael seemed to taunt them—a spectral reminder of the enemy they were hunting. For the Empire, this was more than just a mission. It was a battle for control, and failure was a luxury they could not afford...
