Oh. Dude. She was being kind. Excellent customer service. Did she back trace your phone number and call the Mental Health Services at your location? Not a fan of people jerking customer service people around. It’s not a funny bit.
I grew up with crank yankers & other prank shows, I was expecting some hijinks so I kept listening. Ummm this...this is a bit weird my dude. I think you are making mountains outta molehills here. Glad you called with a positive comment, it was probably nice for them not to be getting yelled at over some quality complaint so props to you for spreading the wholesomeness but I wouldn't attach more meaning to this interaction other than professional courtesy. Making a yt video about it is a bit much
is there a federal law? I thought it was all state by state. my state only requires one party of the conversation be aware of the recording (whereas a third party could not legally record the conversation). since you don't know where you're calling, informing is likely better since there's states that do require both parties know the conversation is being recorded. of course, you'd have to do that up front, which would ruin the premise. so who knows.
Assume every conversation w/every business or organization is recorded. They tell you strictly as a courtesy. Also, only one party has to know for it to be legal. You're only told about training recordings so you stick to the facts & minimally waste the reps time.
That's not entirely true. At the state level, several states are two-party consent, which means that both parties must be informed that they are being recorded. At the federal level it is single-party consent.

We’re all having fun here

@OP You didn't "hit it off" with Jesse, she was being polite - as her role demands. Don't pressure customer service people, it's a hard enough job.
DanWilbur
Lol. I promise you she liked the call. She was elated. I may be wasting some of Campbell’s time but she’s fine
TinyOctopus
Tiny octopus hopes that you followed Federal law and let Jesse know that she was being recorded for satire purposes.
DanWilbur
It’s not satire. I’m being sincere.

Federal Law only requires one party notification, and if you’re one of the parties, you’re good. States often have stricter limitations, however.

Federal Law only requires 1 party notification, and if you’re one of the parties, it’s good. But, as you say states often are more restrictive.
