Some may remember that three days ago I posted asking someone for advice about a little hose I couldn’t figure out.
Turns out it was for a foam soap that helps the bowl stay clean. Since one did not come with the bidet toilet, I improvised with an empty bottle I had and added bathroom soap, and voilà!
This is it! I’ve had it for over 24 hrs and it already has made improvements in my lifestyle, but it does make a huge difference.
My last toilet is the same that came with my house and was cracked at the base and it bugged the heck out of me.
I’m OCD so not changing the bowl was messing with my head with intrusive thoughts at night, so I thought that if I were to change it, I’d spend the extra savings on something that minimized my carbon footprint and was beneficial for me and my family.

I was able to change the cast iron flange that came with my old toilet, installed a new one, then, installed the wax ring that came with the new one beneath the bowl.
Made sure there was a vacuum on the bathroom setting with the bidet, and made sure I could caulk it after I ran the water if it didn't overflow.
The main thing is, my headspace is much better. I already have to deal with ADD and if you add OCD to the mix, you get a very anxious me who can’t focus, is paralyzed, and is having intrusive and negative thoughts that say that I'm useless, I’m good for nothing and I’ll die that way.
Rather than feeling sorry for myself, I thought it was time to change my toilet.
I had the extra funds, besides I had been saving for a while just for this.
I jumped in, found an integrated bidey toilet, and once it got here, I got to work.
Turns out that changing a toilet is not as complicated if you know what you are doing. What stopped me from successfully being done a day early was the little hose.
For setting it in place and surviving through it, I’m incredibly proud of myself.
Now I'm going to do the kid's bathroom, although I always said I would not change it until they were teens, but the benefit of not buying TP, and the savings and minimizing our carbon footprint, the prospect is huge. The toilet has a 1-gallon tank, so I’m already saving a whole gallon per flush, while the last one had a 2-g tank too.
So, savings from not buying TP, (my very last roll is sitting beside the toilet)
Mental health
Price and affordability
Functional
helps the environment-
uses less water too
It looks simple the way it's set, but for now, I’m glad I jumped in.
Just got to remind myself that I'm not useless, I’m valued, I’m enough, and it is going to be okay.
You are useful, valued, you are enough, and everything is going to be okay!

#CatTax this is our new rescue, her name is Neptune and she says Sup?! ? Those eyes though.

#2 I feel like there should be disco music playing when the toilet opens and the purple light comes on.

The light is a UV sanitizer that helps kill bacteria with every use so that it is always clean, but I’m also down for that party. 💃🏻🕺🏻

My boss installed a Toto washlet in her guest bath and I use it whenever I drop files off at her house. I'm currently saving for one of my own, but will need an electrician before I can get the toilet. Don't count out the TP yet, though. Sometimes you gotta blot.

The heated seat is creepy tho. It’s like someone else just got up. 🤣

Once you go bidet, you don't go back. We have 2. Guest love'em, and discuss having one installed in their home.

My mom has had one for decades. I was able to get one that is better than Mom’s, for a fraction of what she paid then in today’s economy. I’m just glad I did it, especially after my mom criticized me, saying I was good for nothing. Now, I’m good for nothing w a bidet better than hers. LMAO
