I don't have much free time these days, but after many months spent coding in my evenings I was finally able to complete my game about a Giant Crab conquering the Galaxy!

This is actually the second kaiju game that I made. The first one was about a Giant Crab saving the environment. I decided that in true B-movie fashion the next place to go was to put the crab into space. I started working on this one shortly after becoming a new parent. After the initial adjustment period I found that I had a fair bit of free time since I was off work and the baby did nothing but sleep. Those days ended quickly once she got a bit more active so now I only have a small window in the evening that I can dedicate to projects like this.

To put a twist on the Kaiju theme I decided to include a bunch of levels where the crab flies through space (this also explains how it is able to travel to all of the different planets). In those levels you fight enemy starships and launch aerial assaults on their ground installations.

In the ground mode you are able to deploy various crab powers such as lasers and energy spheres. You can also pick up objects with your claws. The plot of the game involves a hypercapitalist alien race known as the Annunaki who have taken over the Galaxy. You must travel to different planets and liberate them.

I decided to call the game “The Giant Crab in Space” because it is about a giant crab and it takes place in space. If you’d like to try it out or learn more you can check out the steam page at this link:
