The problem is not erosion as much as microchanneling between layers is difficult to keep clean of bacteria and (if moist) fungi.

So not really any different to the score marks in a chopping board then. Just wash it.
An easy fix to remedy is just giving it a quick coat of resin to smooth it out.
This is true. If it does start to get gross or smell, I can always print another. ??

not an expert, but this seems pretty safe - not heavily washed or exposed to extreme heat. any other considerations?
3D printed objects are porous and have lots of ridges from the layering which is perfect for mold to grow in, also it can have tiny pieces 1
I believe calling it porous is an exaggeration but otherwise I 100% agree.
