Got lucky and had the yellow cross already done when I got to it so it was one less step.
https://www.learnhowtosolvearubikscube.com/get-to-know-the-rubiks-cube This is the guide I used to learn how to do it, took me about a week of on and off practicing to memorize the algorithms. I think the best way of doing it is to do one step at a time; re-scramble it and start over until you have the current step memorized instead of finishing the whole cube every time.

I learned to solve the cube. Then forgot. Then revisited it. Forgot again. And this I've probably cycled ten or twelve times. One day it'll finally stick! Until I forget again.

I would make a joke about re-learning it on the Impossible Cube because if you learn on that you can't forget, but since it works by shifting colors the joke kinda doesn't work at all.
