I still have no clue why anyone would support him unless you’re a billionaire seeking another massive tax break.

Trump appeals to several kinds of people, among them the ignorant, the angry, the greedy and the manipulators who believe they can ride his coattails to achieve their own personal ends.

It's Ferengi ideology.
They don't want to stop the abuse because they think one day it could be them who do the abusing.

Trump knows more about airplanes than anyone. His connection to MIT makes him really smart.

BINGO!

It completely bewilders me as to how and why? Trump just fuckjng die only cure I know that will work.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's called a cult of personality. The whole point is that it's about him. They can relate because he talks about himself, and they are nieve enough to belive him. Biden talks about plans, futures, policies, and they can't relate, so they disbelieve. Trump is a person, Biden is a government entity. That's it.

And it perfectly reflects the civic mentality of his voters. 7.4 million Americans who are entirely about “self,” overflowing with hate that anyone else has rights, and wholly illiterate of history.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He has offered a vision for the future. He longs to be a dictator that exacts revenge on his enemies (which is literally any person that doesn't offer him complete and total fealty). He wants to build concentration camps for the homeless and non-white immigrants. He's willing to sell out any and all parts of America he doesn't have a personal financial interest to accomplish this and further enrich himself and his family. We've seen Trump's vision and it is a horror film.

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And that's always has been about himself, even the 2016 campaign.

A message from the not too distant future: we did it y'all. We elected our first king and smothered democracy with a pillow while everyone stood by saying it's not so bad. Hope future future me can come back and say we somehow made it through okay.

We have clearly not learned the lessons from our history books, therefore we deserve that what is coming.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The real problem is not just “not learning” but being actively misled by a network of conservative propaganda mills and conservative disinformation campaigns on social media… What we haven’t learned is that there has to be a sharp and unforgiving line drawn between propaganda and “entertainment”… Conservative media skirts by on the claims their lies and violent rhetoric is entertainment and we need to put an end to that.

GOP won't do anything without picking up the phone and asking "mother may I". It's absurd that a person that holds no political office, is now a convicted felon, and still has pending trials for all kinds of other screwiness .. is the mafia don for a political party.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah, but those billionaires spend money on his campaign. And the USA electoral system (up and down the ballot) almost always ends up electing the candidate who spent the most. Most of us are EXTREMELY well-trained to respond to marketing from a VERY early age. The instilling of brand loyalty, the insistence in advertising that you 'need' to do/have the thing, whatever it is, to be 'normal.' Those are aspects of the same coin.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He supporters a hate filled shit stains that want a justification for their hate and Trump not only gives it to them but encourages them to act on that hate and commit violent acts against others.

Wasn’t there a rally where it was so hot some people were sent to the hospital? Then he’s addressing the crowd talking about some nice cool breeze that he felt. Afterwards, he literally told the crowd I don’t care about you. I just care about your votes..

1 year ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

And then immediately followed that up up with "oh, the press will say I said a horrible thing". Yes asshole, when you say a horrible thing, people will describe it as such. That's how words work.

1 year ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Repubs will put up with anything for a tax cut. Anything.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And yet the Democrats will still lose to him because they're that useless. How bad does one have to be then for this even to be a competition.

Here are additional factors:
1. Gerrymandering.
2. Voter disenfranchisement (unenrolling, lack of polling stations in key areas, etc).
3. Tribalism (old-school Republicans who stay loyal to the name of the party despite the platform falling apart).
4. Genuine bigotry.

I'm sure your narrative of "Dems are weak" suits you for some reason, but it's inaccurate.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You know there are several media moguls who are using their conglomerates to show Biden in a bad light and explain away Trump every chance they get.

1 year ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

Because for the ultra-wealthy, the massive tax breaks help offset the failed economic policies.

1 year ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 4

The ultra wealthy don't care about that. they pay people (sometimes several dozen) to figure that one out for them

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, and I mean by benefitting himself he sure benefits some others. And those other are willing to pay extra buck for campinging, "buying votes", etc

He himself doesn’t offer a vision, but his actions, past and present, show he will destroy everything and everyone who defies him and doesn’t make him look good. I believe Back to the Future Part 2 shows us a future with him again.

So the solution is to cover Trump in manure? I'm all for that

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He already covers his own posterior in manure and he’s unfazed. I’m not sure that would work on him.

I seriously worry WWIII have a significantly higher chance of happening if he wins again...

1 year ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

No. Civil unrest first, then with a weakened society, then a war with Taiwan and China.

1 year ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This sure sounds like WWIII since the US can't go to war alone...

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It will. And the American war machine will be fascist, draw the rest of the owl.

Im traveling in Italy now. Other tourists we talk to have instantly asked Biden or trimp? and have expressed their concerns about American tanking and how fast that will domino into their countries.

1 year ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

They support him because he promises to hurt the people they hate.

That’s it, that’s the whole thing.

1 year ago | Likes 257 Dislikes 4

This. Republicans market in cynicism of the gov and "both sides."

"Dems only want to help lazy people who won't work and non-white people - the government doesn't do anything for people like me!"

Trump is an agent of vengeance to sate their bitterness because they have been told repeatedly that no one is looking out for them.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He also promises power for nothing but kissing his ring and "doing an (illegal) favor" for him if he calls. His followers want to hurt others, but they want the blessing. They want him to become President and deputize them to go round up neighbors, take their property, enslave them, etc. The politicians following him are hoping he'll give them a seat at the table to divide the country into baronies/fiefdoms. They're all playing the lotto hoping to win big.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Worse, people they have been institutionalized (lied about) to hate. While the people who should be hated make money on those lies.

“You gotta understand the one core value that they hold above all others is hatred for what they
consider weakness, because that's what they believe strength is, hatred for weakness. And I
mean passionate, sadistic hatred. And I'm not exaggerating. Believe me. Sadistic, passionate
hatred, and that's what proves they're strong, their passionate hatred for weakness.”

Commenter on Reddit who grew up Missouri. “If you keep getting caught up in why do they not realize blah blah blah and how can they still
back him after blah blah blah, you are not understanding what is the underlying motivating
factor of his support. It's fuck liberals, that's pretty much it.”

Sorry, that was decent photoshop work, but you are depicting a healthy asshole… his lips and mouth are similar to a prolapsed asshole where the inner lining of the anus protrudes… also a horse or cow’s asshole when taking a large dump looks very similar to his lips when pronouncing (I use the term loosely) most words.

Billionaires shouldn't be supporting him; they have a lot to lose if he becomes president. His policies are not good for economic stability.

1 year ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

They don't give a shit about economic stability. They're physically incapable of seeing beyond next quarter's earnings.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Warren Buffet bought a railroad during the last crash. Crashes are when things get sold off cheap.

1 year ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

The billionaires are always looking for that quick pay-out before moving on. They want him to become potus, remove a ton of regulation, create a pure capitalistic / life-as-a-subscription society. Billionaires get rich quick, then leave for another country to go do the same when chaos ensues over here.

1 year ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought I was pretty clear above.

1 year ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

They don't need economic stability anymore. They just wanna cash out their stock and run to private islands / tax havens.

1 year ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

They have enough to exploit the chaos he causes for their gain.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Billionaires profit from a bad economy. The money lost by regular people during a recession ends up in their pockets. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/billionaire-wealth-covid-pandemic-12-trillion-jeff-bezos-wealth-tax/

1 year ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

For that to benefit them, the recession has to be temporary and not come with other serious consequences. Abandoning our overseas obligations, as Trump is likely to do, will cost them a lot of money overall. If the biggest danger from Trump were a recession, I would not have made the comment that I did.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends how long your view is on these things. If your wealth is already generational then you can take a generational view with a portion of it. What you or I may see as longterm someone with means in the millions doesn’t see the same way. I.e can I purchase assets that will allow my grandchildren to build family wealth as I am already so obscenely wealthy it’s where true growth potential lies.

1 year ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The overall economy can stall or shrink (recession) meaning billionaires wealth won't grow as fast but their percentage of wealth increases as poor people lose money in a bad economy. They can buy assets at a much lower cost and hold them without penalty. When the economy recovers their position has increased. Yes, a permanent recession is not good for them but dips in the cycle help them accumulate more.
