I was required to learn something new for a unit in English class. So I decided to learn how to woodwork and built myself a headset stand for my computer area!

Started by ripping and laminating some pieces for the base.

I put a chamfer on the pieces so I could glue them together and create a “skirt” around the base plate.

I glued them into a box formation and used brad nails to hold it together while the glue dried.

I now laminated pieces together to create the main tower.

And drilled a small hole for a lag bolt.

Pre fastening sanding.

Used two heavy duty lags to connect the tower to the base.

It doesn’t look the best but I think it works perfectly.

Dog tax.

In my day we had to actually read something for English classes.

Don’t get me wrong, we did lots of reading, but the point of this is so that the students learn how to research and show their findings.

"So I learned how to woodwork" and then churns out a ridiculously good looking piece. That was definitely not your first project.

Thank you for the compliment, but the reason it looked so good was that I had a lot of guidance from the woodworking teacher at my school.

A piece of pool noodle would slide onto the bolt and keep it from creasing the foam in your headset +1
