It doesn't have to be a tie, only that no one gets a majority of electors.

It doesn't need to be a tie for the 12th to be enacted, it's considerably easier than that. I'll link a video, although full disclosure it is a Democratic supporting pundit talking to a Democratic Congressman, but it lays out the path to triggering the 12th.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8GGuLfv0dM

The "fun" bit about learning about the Constitution as a non American is just how full of holes it is, it's written as if nobody ever will be a "bad actor". There's checks and balances, sure, but dig into the weeds and there are gaps wide enough for legal teams to drive a horse and cart through. It is actually amazing that it took one orange asshole to bring this into sharp focus to the mainstream. Weirder still a good percentage of the mainstream support him in these actions.

Cool beans but the odds of a tie are very low.

1 in 300, but people buy powerball tickets

Quite a bit lower than that, you’re assuming that certain states are equally likely to be won by either party, and that’s probably not the case. It’s probably closer to 1 in 1000 than 1 in 100.

Also, WTF does people buying powerball tickets have to do with anything?
